We are bed SNOBS and this is one of the best! Tempura Pedic quality without the obscene price!!
This review is for the Serenia RV King by Serenia Sleep. We don't have a lot of money, but we spend it on things that matter; like good beds for the entire family. We bought our first Tempur Pedic 15 years ago right after our first son was born. We bought a king size and had to finance it for several years to be able to afford it. We never regretted the decision - nor did our backs! Because of a move out of state, we gave our Tempur Pedic to family and have used 3 different beds the past 10 years. One was a Sleep Number that we put in our Fleetwood Terra. We liked it, though not as much as the Tempur Pedic. It was too difficult to find the right setting... The second was a knock-off T.P. from a big big store back in 2010. Another $300 for a memory foam topper made it tolerable. Ugh! The last was a Serta Comfort given to us by friends. At least only a $200 memory foam topper remedied this one!We recently purchased a 10 year old travel trailer. It came with the typical RV bed - NO support. We were pleasantly surprised that this RV took a king-size bed and figured we would just switch out our bed, however our hearts sank when we measured and realized it was not the typical king and we worried that we would not be able to find a suitable bed. Of course, searching is easy for Amazon! We decided to go with the Serenia RV King based on the description and the reviews. We ordered the bed on 5-3-19 and it arrived on 5-10-19. The box was completely destroyed at one end (done by the delivery carrier) and we were very concerned about the bed. No worries! The bed was wrapped in so many layers of plastic, I doubt a missile could have damaged it!We took the advise of the seller (in their description) and from other reviewers and took the bed out of the box and brought the wrapped bed into the RV bedroom before cutting the plastic off. We first unrolled what we could and then cut. It's wrapped so much and so tight, I almost grabbed my medical scissors (has the bunt end on one side as not to cut what it's up against, you can do this simply by taping a small amount of paper towel or the like on one tip of your scissors and put that end on the down side as you cut to keep from damaging something) but I was able to cut it with a regular pair of utility scissors - though very carefully. If I had to do it over again, I would grab the medical scissors the first time.Because of the size of the bed and the small size of the RV bedroom, it took both of us to position the bed onto the platform. Our RV bed platform is made of Oriented Strand Board (OSB), so I placed a large liner over it before putting the bed on top. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the bottom of this Serenia bed is made with a protective layer (see second picture. The white part on top is the top of the mattress. I am holding it up so you can see the darker beige colored bottom that is made with a durable fabric to resist being damaged by the wood platforms normally found in RVs.) I have tried to read through all of the description to see if it states that the bottom is made with the protective bottom, but I cannot see anything. Serenia should have a picture of this so everyone can see and make a point of explaining it in the description- I think all RV owners would find this to be a wonderful detail! For us, the bed seemed immediately ready for laying on. We quickly took the measurements - all checked out, including the 8 inches for the height (see third and forth picture - this was taken minutes after we unpacked bed.) The bed is so soft to the touch and very pretty (shame to have to put sheets on it.) See 5th picture for close up. We both laid down on the bed and immediately said, "Ahhhhhh!" Fondly remembering our T.P., we stayed in one position and felt our bodies ease into the mattress at all the right pressure points and could feel the weightlessness the bed gives to our 45 & 50 year old bodies. I am a side sleeper, so I turned over on my side (without a pillow) and stayed there for at least 5 minutes and was amazed that I didn't have any pressure points in my neck, arm, or hip. (Currently, I sleep with 4 pillows; king sized between my legs and knees, 2 standard pillows stacked so one comes across my side so I can rest my arm on it (bad shoulder) and a My Pillow for my head.) This bed already promises to meet Tempur Pedic quality without the obscene price! I am so excited to experience the cooler "open-celled memory foam," since the T.P. did tend to get HOT during the warmer months! The last picture (number 6) is with the bed on the platform with it raised to access the storage area below. Yes, this bed is heavy, but our 10 year old gas springs had no problem lifting the bed and holding it in position (without me holding it.)There was a slight smell, but nothing to whine about (and I am prone to headaches and migraines, so smells can really affect me.) We closed up the RV (A/C on - it's Central Florida, where temperatures rival Hades) and, the next day, I did not notice a smell at all. Five days later, no smell. We are not yet full-time in our RV, so I will have to update when we have slept on it for a consistent amount of time, but we have had enough "practice" over the years that we know when it's a good one and THIS is a good one!I wish they made smaller RV bunk bed mattresses so we could get one for at least one of our sons (our oldest prefers to sleep on a board - seriously, he still sleeps on his knock-off T.P. without a mattress topper - it hurts just to sit on it!)At this price, if this mattress only lasts us 5 years, we will buy another because it will still be way less than a T.P. but it really looks like the workmanship is great so I believe it will last many, many years.A little side note for those that might need to know - we get regular, monthly chiropractic adjustments and have for over 17 years. For those that do, you understand where we're coming from. From those of you that don't understand - by getting regular chiropractic adjustments, we are more intune to when our bodies are out of whack. A good bed is not something we want, but something we need!**Update on July 7, 2019**My husband and I have been sleeping on this bed for over 3 weeks now. We still have our house, but just shower and brush teeth in the house, walk out into our driveway, climb into our RV and go to sleep on a (supportive) cloud. We cannot feel each other move during the night (or crawl into or out of bed) and that's a big plus because sometimes my husband has to wake up at 3:30am for the early shift and it doesn't take him 5 minutes to get out of bed like with our Serta Comfort. (He would move ever so slowly in attempt not to wake me.) Sometimes the RV bed platform makes a noise and I hear that, but that's not the mattresses' fault. Regular king sheets fit great on this mattress and I don't even need any kind of clips to hold the fitted sheet in place (although I did buy some for that purpose.) We are due for our monthly chiropractic appointment in 2 days and we have just now started to feel the need to go. With our other bed, our backs would start hurting a week or more before our appointment. In the 3 weeks we have been sleeping on this bed, I don't think a night has gone by without one of us saying, "I love this bed," or "This bed feels so good," before falling off into a good night's sleep. **End of update**Hope this helps!

Really nice!
Being full-timers overlanding the Americas for the past 7 years, we had to replace our second mattress which we had for the past 3 years. It was also American made 6” short queen, with 2” memory foam over 4” of regular foam. It was wonderful for the first year but then turned into a crappie mattress as it completely lost its firmness in the middle. We really like this new mattress!First of all it’s true to size. The older mattress never expanded to its full size. It was 72” long instead of 75, and 57” wide instead of 60”.It’s also half the weight of our previous mattress, which make it easier to deal with. We can also feel the weight reduction as our camper-van doesn’t have a dually in the rear for extra weight.Second, it’s very comfortable for us. It’s firm but soft enough for good long sleep, and the material it’s cover with is of good quality.Third, the price is ok, not too expensive in comparison to our older mattress, which means that we can afford to replace it every year or so if needed.

So far so good I’ve only slept on it 3 times! It’s very nice! Well pleased so far!

firm mattress
Hopefully it'll soften a bit with use. Also, the nights were cold where I was camping (upper 30's) and it seemed the mattress was cold, I put a fleece blanket between me and the mattress. I'm going to put my feather topper back on and see if that helps both issues.

Comfortable!
We bought the RV Queen for the Murphy bed in our travel trailer. I was wondering if the 8-inch would be comfortable but didn't want to get any thicker, since the bed gets somewhat folded up during the day. The first two nights it was an improvement over the mattress that can with the RV, but by the third night it had fully expanded and is very comfortable. I like the thicker memory foam mattresses for our regular bed, but this is perfect for the RV Murphy bed.

Comfortable mattress
Just got the mattress and put it in our trailer. It seems very comfortable, but we haven’t slept on it. If anything changes, I’ll update my evaluation. Shipping was quick and arrived in very good condition.

Great Mattress and Great Company
Firstly, the company gets a 5 star for customer service. There was an error in the item shipped to us and they promptly and courteously corrected the mixup. That alone deserves notice. The mattress is made well and very comfortable. We will be taking our first camping trip with this new mattress and I will report back on sleep quality.
