It is not just a fan, it is actually a time machine. Once it reaches the warp speed it disappears, so don't stand nearby or you go with it.. into the 50's you go..

Q: do any vornado fans have ball bering motors? almost all simple fans do not and become worthless after about two years of use

The Vornado Circulators that have ball bearings in the motors are the models: VFan, VFan Jr, VFan Sr, 723, 733, 743 , 783, 293HD, 5303DC, 610DC and 723DC.

Q: My husband and i like to keep a fan on at night as white noise. does the vfan jr. sized fan provides white noise or is it pretty quiet?

This fan has 2 speeds, high is very quiet, low you can hardly tell it's running on low. On its hi setting, it would be perfect as white noise. I, however, use this one's bigger brother in the bedroom, and this smaller one on my office desk. Big brother [Vornado VFAN Sr. Pedestal Vintage Air Circulator Fan, Vintage White]. These exude quality in everything about it. As someone who's used a fan for sleeping since I was a kid (50+ years), I am sure these fans will outlast me.

You can use a screwdriver to remove the front grill to access the blade for cleaning. Pages 12 and 13 in the owner's manual have diagrams showing this process.
