Just like my mountain bikes...but on my VFR
Same as in mountain biking, I don't understand why slightly wider grips aren't more common and popular. Oury is about the only game in town for this width of grip on pedals. Glad they're also producing sport bike grips too. Before this, I was getting the "ever so slightly wider" version of Sport Grips, etc. These are suitably wider without being odd cruiser grips or somerthing. For reference, I wear medium to large gloves depending on the manufacturer and still find standard grips just too narrow. These are terrific. Also, they're the right level of tacky so when you're cruising it's very easy to hold the throttle just so with your palm and rest a bit.As far as installing, punching a hole in the closed end is all that's necessary for standard grip bikes that have end weights (are there any that don't?). The length was exactly perfect on my 2002 VFR, and the usual hairspray was all that was needed. Couple months later they're not slipping and they remain very comfortable. Believe they wear less on a motorcycle too, just not moving my gloves around as much on them compared to either a cross country or downhill mountain bike.

Motorcycle grip
ourys have been around since the 70s when I raced motocross and rough scrambles. I've always loved there composite materials that give you a handful of grip kinda sticky somewhat .my all-time favorite for dirt or street riding

Ouray grips haven't changed
I used Ouray grips on my dirt bikes for years, always liked them. The pair I bought went on my 96 Honda GL 1500. Now, these grips aren't anywhere long enough to cover the 1500 original hand grip area. What I had on it before, was these lousy foam grips that fell apart. (Aftermarket) With those, came a chrome band that set next to the control pods. Measuring them, from chrome band to the end of the bars told me Ourays would fit with mods, so I bought them. Under the old foam was a heavy rubber grip that met the bars. That I didn't know. Once I cut the old off, I cut the chrome bands off, but didn't damage the rubber under the bands. I expected to have to go shopping for spacer pieces to make the Ourays fit and look presentable. Once off, I reversed the rubber, stuffed them back into the chrome bands, then slid them back on, BECAUSE the outer band was the same size as the inner rubber ring of the new Ouray grip! They turned out looking great, are very comfortable to use, I love 'em! The GL 1500 bars are the same size as any OEM motorcycle grip. (7/8" and 1") I've looked at these crappy chrome covered grips, I hate them! Too many of my old dirt riding buddies used to buy new bikes, and a set of Ourays. Bring the bike home, cut the new grips off, put on Ourays. (I did it too!) 40 years later, they still make them, I'll still buy them.

Best Grips Ever.
See above. The texture of the rubber is perfect. It insulates well against vibration, holds up very well, and provides a very sure, kung fu grip.

2023 Yamaha XRS900
They fit better than the stock grips. Super easy to install with alcohol inside the grips and on the bar and throttle. Leave them alone for 24 hours and they are locked on. I had to cut open the ends to match the inner diameter of the grips. You can't see the cuts because unlike the stock grips, these fit right up against the mirror brackets. Make sure the throttle grip has a tiny gap at the end for easy rotation. Very comfortable grips! If you're a rookie, the bigger grip goes in the throttle - they are not supposed to be the same size inside.

My favorite grip
I've been using this grip in one form or another for several decades. Enough cushion to help with my carpal tunnel issues but still provide a solid grip surface.
