Reliable and non allergenic
I have used plasticover reeds for over 30 years since my lip used to react to the ordinary cane reeds. The latest plasticover reeds are more consistent that previous versions and whereas you might get 2 decent reeds in a box I find that they are all good.

Plastic covered reeds
I'm a complete beginner at clarinet, however, I was recommended these by an expert clarinetist. You can put them on and start playing straight away, there's no need to "break" in to it.I will be buying these again, especially considering how clumsy I am with them and I'm always breaking and damaging my reeds :PAlso, they produce a lovely sound, coupled with the Vandooran B45 mouth piece, it's really quite magical!

Good tone
More expensive than traditional reeds, but last longer. Also more resilient to moisture, and gentler on the lips. Produce a different, brighter tone than a traditional reed, so probably personal preference.

Plays well
These reeds play well, and I enjoy that they don't have the bad taste of wood reeds.

anches plasticover
article conforme à ma recherche, les anches plasticover m'étant par ailleurs connues - et utilisées pour saxophones-pour leur principal avantage: leur imperméabilité.

I'm not good at it
I've been playing clarinet on and off for the last 15 years. I'm not good at it, I promise. I recently purchased an antique clarinet and needed some reeds as my local music shop closed. I've heard amazing things about plastic reeds before and I am a fan of Rico's wood reeds, so I thought I'd give these a try. These aren't really plastic reeds, nor are they wood reeds. They're layered. The base, that touches the clarinet, is wood, and the top layer, the part that touches your lips and teeth, is a black plastic material. The tonal quality that I can get out of these reeds is smooth, vibrant, and very clarinet-y. I got 2.5 strength (the same I get for wood) and I had some issues trying to play it, but that could have just as easily been a result of me not playing for a long time.Overall, the quality feels fantastic. I think the protective plastic will let these reeds last a long time. We'll see.

It is what it is
I was surprised that they work as well as they do. However they still seem to need a short period to warm up. It is what it is, a plastic coated cane reed and as such it can’t be worked or adjusted. If it doesn’t play well out of the box, you’re out of luck.
