Excellent way to keep your dog's paws clean on road trips!
Pros:- Great concept- Perfect for traveling to keep paws clean before entering your vehicle- Strong bristles to clean, while still not hurting your dog's paws- Easy to unscrew the lid to fill water and empty dirty waterCons:- Medium size is slightly too big for a 20-30 pound Rat Terrier, but Petite size is way too smallPersonal Experience:I have a 27 pound Rat Terrier and a Decker Rat Terrier puppy who will grow to be approximately 30 pounds full grown. We travel a lot on weekends for hikes, and other activities. We also like to let our dogs go into our backyard frequently when we are at home, so they can run around freely. However, we also like to keep a clean home and for years I have always hand washed each of my dogs' paws in a sink before letting them back in the house. This is time consuming, to say the least. I finally did some research and discovered the Pet Product Innovations Paw Plunger and immediately wanted to try it out. After using this for a few weeks, I can say that it works just as described. It's perfect for our weekend get aways so I can keep my dogs' paws clean before letting them back into our car, and perfect for saving time washing their feet before letting them back in the house from the backyard. It has 360 degree bristles that are attached to the screw on lid, and an opening on the lid that allows you to plunge your dog's paw into the cup. The only complaint I have is that the medium size is slightly too big for my dogs' paws, but the Petitie size was far too small. It's not a deal breaker though. I just swirl my dogs' paws around more to make sure it catches on the bristles as much as possible.

Mostly works for what I need
Got a large for my 100lb large-breed mutt. I have small hands, weigh as much as the pup, and unscrewing the lid initially took 5+ minutes of fighting this 10 inch cup. To fill to the bottom bristles seems to be at least half a gallon of water. It's a bit heavy but I can still pick the cup up and plunge or leave the cup on the floor and manuever my pup so I can move his leg instead.I tested the product out on a day it was raining a lot and it worked perfect for getting the thinner "fresh rain" mud from the yard off the pup's feet. It was faster, easier to use, and cleaned more thoroughly compared to wet rags, paper towels, pet wipes, plastic bowls/buckets, sprays, etc. Pup can't kick this over too easy or spill water everywhere. The bristles are deceptively soft and seem to get mud out of his paws well. Keep a towel nearby to dry your pets paws if wet pawprints bother you.Dealing with mud that was thick and cakey and clumped on the pup's paws the days after that rain was a task. I'd plunge a little and just wipe the rest of the mud off with a towel. The product just really couldn't get that kind of mud to budge a whole lot.I also got this with my pup's (chronic) yeast/bacteria overgrowth on one paw in mind. I can mix chlorhexidine into the water, plunge, and dry: his foot's in contact with the cleanser, the bristles scrub a little, dry with a towel, and all the work is done.Cup could use measurement markers or at least a fill line. Threading for the lid could be better. Product works for what I need, though.

Once your dog accepts it, it works quite well.
I've only had this for a day, but it's working quite well. The first time I used it, our dog was pretty hesitant. But I was patient and used treats and the second time he just stood there and let me go to town. It's not _perfect_, but good enough for 5 stars. What I've settled on is plunging the paw in, moving the Paw Plunger up and down (not his foot) while twisting it slight side to side. This seems to do the best job of getting most of the muck off. It does _not_ get everything perfectly clean, but gets a huge percentage off and loosens up what's left to make it much easier to get off with a towel. The whole process is much faster than just using a towel like we were doing before. We have the large Paw Plunger for our 80 pound Irish Setter, and I think it's a great size. Plenty of depth to plunge deep, but still have enough empty space at the top to avoid splashing. The instructions say to fill it half way, which is kind of a pain because there's no way to see where the water level is. I ended up probably filling it more like 2/3, and just stick my finger down in to make sure it's right.Definitely useful for muddy paws.

Great idea too cheaply made
I was really looking forward to this item. It's a great idea. It did help clean my dog's paws, but it is made of such poor quality material, it's not going to last or work well, though I'm giving it a try before returning it.The lid threads are very soft which makes the lid hard to screw and unscrew. They are also very short which make it unsecure. The top cap is so tight that it's nearly impossible to work with.If you plan in bringing this to the dog park in your car, better not fill it with water as it is not water-tight and the lids will just pop off if it falls over as you turn a corner. Should sell for 1/2 the price at the most.Extremely disappointed. Would have been ok under $15, but not for almost $30. That's ridiculous because it's really junky.

Best Money I've Ever Spent On A Dog With Feet
I purchased & received the large Paw Plunger this week, so I can't say how well this item will hold up after a long period of time, but we have a 75lb, 28" tall at the shoulders Goldendoodle with curly hair & large paws, and a brand new yard on the coast that is 95% sand. In the past 3 months I've been wiping his paws ineffectively and spending most of my housekeeping time sweeping/vacuuming all the sand that he brings in and deposits on our hard floors. My husband would occasionally fill a bucket to clean & wash his feet, but that was not an effective long-term solution. Our new veterinarian, upon hearing me whine about the situation, recommended I buy this product because she uses it with her own dogs. From the first time I used it I was sold! It looks like one of those oversized water jugs you can get at a convenience store, with a fitted insert for paws and legs. I stuck my hand (and my kids') inside to try it out and the bristles inside are very soft, and will not hurt sensitive paw pads. The rubber piece at the top made it tricky to pull my hand out (it reminded me of the scene in "Where The Red Fern Grows" with the racoon who gets its hand stuck in a log because it won't let go of a shiny piece of tin), but that's helpful in wringing some of the water off the furry paws. Our dog is used to having his feet handled many times a day - we've been wiping them every time he comes in from being outside since we got him almost 5 years ago - so he's already used to standing still for us, and it only took a few minutes to teach him what we were doing. But if you have a dog who is jumpy/twitchy or doesn't like having its paws touched, this might not be the right product for you.I will say that the large size is definitely for dogs with LARGE feet; when I had previously purchased all-weather booties for him in a desperate attempt to cut down on the dirt, I bought the large size that only covered half his feet and he should have been in an extra-large. But this large contraption is made for really big paws; we might have been able to size down to a medium, though I think that may have been just a tad uncomfortable for him.I filled it halfway up with warm water and set it on our 50 degree F porch to use when I let him out, putting the included cover on top. 30 minutes later the water inside was still warm, so it held the temperature nicely. I did need to use a towel to help wring the excess water off his feet as not all of it had come off, but I'd much rather have a little water on the floor than mud or sand, all of which was left behind in the plunger. All in all, I wish I'd found this years ago; it would have saved my sanity and my floors many times over. I've already recommended it to my friends and family with dogs who understand the struggle.

Effective and Easy to Use, But Probably Not for Dogs With Sensitive Paws
Purchased this last week for my 12 lb Malti-Poo because wipes just weren't cutting it. This thing really works! I purchased the small/petite size, and after the first use the water was black from all the dirt picked up! Subsequent uses don't collect as much filth, which suggests thatyou don't have to use it after every walk. I've been using it 1x/day, which is more than enough for maintaining clean paws!Having read a variety of the reviews before purchasing this product, I'd like to debunk some of the concerns.1) Some reviewers worried about discomfort to the dog on the basis of sticking their own fingers in the plunger as a test. Since this thing isn't designed for human fingers, it shouldn't surprise anyone that it's not pleasant, so skip this "test." My dog isn't sensitive to his paws being touched, and he doesn't mind this.2) Some folks complained about it being clunky and hard to use. Not sure if this it unique to larger sizes, but the small one is neither of these. Couldn't be easier to use, esp compared to some of the other weird, complicated pet products out there.Bottom Line: If your dog is like mine and isn't finnicky about having their paws touched, you'll be fine. Otherwise, skip this.

Works great, large is huge
The Paw Plunger (large) works very well and Muggles loves it. Of course, she is a water hound in an English Bulldog body, so anything wet works for her. But muddy days (as if it ever rains in north Texas) are not a problem any more. I just use the Paw Plunger (full of water) and a towel to dry her paws and we are good to go after a stroll through the mud. The lid works great for keeping the water inside the giant mug. If left outside, the water inside can get really hot (uncomfortable) or very cold so the lid comes in handy when tucking this inside the door. One note on this product is that, when full of water, it is 144 ounces or 9 pounds (4 kg). This made it a bit unwieldy until I got used to it. It is very sturdy and the handle works great for tipping it in the right direction to dunk a paw (one dunk in and then out generally does it). It will last a very long time and certainly is big enough for a Bulldog's paws. Definitely recommended if you have problems with large muddy paws.

Large paw plunger
Brilliant love this works a treat on my sandy muddy puppy paws ! very large puppy I might add at 20 weeks and long curly fur . The lid is a bonus and stays attached by the link chain to plunger and handle helps support and steady when gripping plunger if need be. ...I have put my had in and checked brushes and to make sure paw hand is not caught on anything inside and found it to to be all soft bristle brushes ( minuscule version of car wash brushes ) very good product

Pfoten waschen leicht gemacht

Works great
Fast shipping. Works as described. My dog does not seem to have an issue with the bristles, they seem soft and comfortable for his small paws.

Very happy with this purchase! highly recommend!
This thing makes cleaning your dogs feet a breeze. I live in southern Ontario, Canada and mostly use this in the winter to wash away and salt and chemicals that they spread on the roads/sidewalks. Very similar in concept to a golf ball scrubber. My dog wasn't really keen on it at first but after a few times he kind of just accepts it. Only takes a minute or two to do all four paws and works WAY better than just a towel as you will see when you empty it (with mud/dirt anyways). I have a 110lb Rotti and ordered the medium which works just fine. As far as quality its OK but could be better. The threads on the lid are not very well done, usually takes me a few tries to get it started on there properly. The bristles started to bend out of shape rather quickly much like an old dust broom. It's maybe a compromise in cost as well as maybe in softness of the bristles vs. longevity. I would guess the latter. They are not very stiff which is a good thing as I don't think a dog would like that. Overall I would say a definite must have for and dog owner.
