I bought this to fix a shallow dent in the side door of our old gym supply van. I mixed a small batch on cardboard and pressed it into the low spot. It spread easily, and after it set, I sanded it down before priming and painting. The patch looks tidy from a few feet away, which is enough for a work van that gets loaded every day. My one gripe is the short working time. I had to move quickly and mix less than I first planned, so don’t prepare a big batch unless you’re ready to use it right away. The can and hardener did the job for this repair.

Great product at a good price. I always keep a can in stock for various odd jobs.It goes a long way and the only reason I had to purchase another can is that I reached the practical shelf life of my old one. Since I have had my old can for at least a dozen years, I wan't too disappointed.It's primary use is for auto repair but I have used it more for other things.I often use this when I want to make repairs to plastic items. It beats superglue by a bunch and you can build up a good layer to support weak parts. It can be used for any material.I have found this product valuable for repairing damaged or decaying wood. I dig out the loose wood, seal it with Elmer's "Rotted Wood Repair", and then fill the voids and big spaces with 3 M Filler. It shapes well and is easy to sand. The finished repair can be painted with regular house paint. It leaves a solid surface that cannot be distinguished from wood and I guarantee that the repair will last. The only problem is that you cannot drive a nail into it. If you need to nail or screw into this product, you will meed an adequate pilot hole to work with. I have never had the need. I have done repairs on many outside surfaces including trim and window sills and have not seen any sign of weathering after a number of years in our Wisconsin weather.I have also used 3 M Filler to create molds for various purposes. It can be poured, formed, and machined to any shape. Just remember to use a release agent such as silicon spray. It works for both molds and parts and I have used it to make insulators for ham radio projects.This is a versatile product and will come in handy in any workshop.

When I grabbed this Bondo it was for a small disaster in my rental. I’m 28, on a budget, and my cat had chewed up the corner of a door frame. I used it on that wood, then took what was left and patched a little crack on my car bumper. It sands down pretty smooth if you’re patient. I just used cheap sandpaper and it still looked good under paint. I also tried a tiny spot on the old vinyl trim by my balcony. It held up after a week of rain, which made me really glad I bought it.

The jar is a good size with no leakage and has a thick consistency. Excellent body filler. It becomes real hard and won't come out. It allows for sanding within 20/30 minutes. This filler helped me level out a bunch of places on my car that had rust damage. Using this, one can make the repaired area become real smooth, just like it was before the damage. It becomes real hard real soon, I think, within some 10 minutes and so don't mix more than what you can use in about 10 minutes.
