Riveting!
This was Raymond Arroyo's 3rd book in the Will Wilder series, which I bought for my 9-year-old grand-nephew. HOWEVER, before giving my nephew the books, I have read them myself, as I enjoy mysteries/thriller-type books. I think this third book is the best of the three, and Raymond left the ending suggestive that there might be a 4th in the series. I enjoyed the book very much, as it was just as action-packed as the previous two books. While I haven't given this 3rd book to my nephew yet, I don't know if he has read the first two books, since I see him only once or twice a year. In reading the books, I questioned whether an 8-year-old....which is how old my nephew was when I gave him the first two books....has the vocabulary and knowledge (especially history) to totally understand some of the references made in the books. The books are supposed to be suitable for age 8+. I think it might also depend on how well that 8-year-old reads. Children ages 10-12 might be more likely to read and enjoy them. However, having listened to Raymond Arroyo on the radio, I feel confident that he wrote these books with input from his own young children, and I highly recommend them to any avid young reader!

Sometimes lesson are hard to learn.
The Amulet of Power, third in the series, takes Will Wilder on another wild journey. It is a powerful tale of how power can be misused and if not held in check can put oneself and others in danger. There is a strong teaching about seeking an artificial remedy and taking the easy way out of a difficult situation. Many times we like the easy way and rather than use natural talents and growth we want the quick rewards and flashy results. Almost always that leads to sad endings. Will learns an important lesson but suffers a loss in the process due to deception and intrigue. There is a strong lesson about how deceptive evil can suck a person into being caught up in the plot. Amulet of Power's ending is surprising as well as a powerful example that not everything ends well for everyone. I applaud Mr. Arroyo for his skill in treating his readers with respect. I highly recommend the series for young and not so young readers and hope he will continue this series through Will's teenage years. There are still lessons to be learned.

Yet Another Great Installment to the Series
Will's bully Caleb feels Will purposely shows him up. But Will is stuck in his own academic world, thriving in content that he loves.Until he tries out for the football team and actually does show Caleb up, thanks to the power of Sampson's hair in an amulet.(Will annoys me because he constantly acts like a [pre?] teen who yields to temptation and stupidly justifies his actions. There is more of the Sinestri and evil in general--like imps. This is a very scary book on the dangers and powers of demonic possession and influence. Demons unearth our desires and wreak havic/sin on the world. It's interesting and informative and a very good warning. There is more about some saints, both common and otherwise.Although Will bothers me, he does not hesitate to learn on the love and support of family and friends. When he is in danger or is uncertain about something, he talks to Cami, Max, Andrew and Simon; he calls his aunt Lucille and tells her what he witnesses. He trusts the adults' role in life.(I'm looking for this more because I heard Arroyo saying this was a downside of 'Harry Potter,' that the adults just let these 11-year-old kids do things, which is incredibly unrealistic). The fact that there is a character named Lilith made me groan and roll my eyes.THAT END IS MORE INTENSE THAN IN PREVIOUS BOOKS!! :O

Third Time’s ... A BELOVED RELIC!
One of the things that makes me rank a story as 5-Star quality is the fact that it pulls me into a place with its characters! Great writing only happens with passion and purpose. I found Perilous Falls at the time we ALL need heroes to fight for right and struggle against wrong to find pieces we didn’t realize we’d lost until they are found in the fictional place by a fictional character who we relate to PERFECTLY! THANK YOU, RAYMOND, FOR WILL WHO HELPED ME TO FIND MY LOST PIECES 💖 Tonja Condray Klein; Eirinth Writer, Singer, Songwriter, and Webpage Designer 😊

Didn't want it to end
I'm a 72 year old Grandma who loved this book! Each book in this series is better than the last. Love the Catholicity in Raymond's writing. Will always learns a lesson. I'm glad his Dad seems to have finally found a backbone too.

This is a great adventure book for families with 10y/o and up kiddos Share the stories!
I appreciated the emphasis on family values and working together in times of stress. The growing talents of the youngsters in the story become critical in 'looking out' for each other and those unaware of dangers. I bought this Will Wilder Book (#3) to share with my grandchildren ~ starting with Ben, who just turned 13. He got all three books on 3/11 and was nearly through the latest on St. Patrick's Day! We'll be chatting about the series soon! I'm curious about his thoughts on Will's football adventures, which were definitely "wild."

So much fun!
Lots of action but it ends too soon! If you have kids (or even adult friends) who like to read, get all 3 books! It’s good vs evil at its best!
