Lately I have been trying a lot of mustache waxes; trying to find one holding my mustache while allowing it to retain a natural look (i.e. not a glued look). My mustache is one of those where one side bends up and the other curves under. No matter how much you try, once up the left goes back and the front forward. I have started using a heat gun (or hairdryer) while holding the mustache to lock it in place. With this wax, this method works well. The wax is easy to use feeling a lot like the more synthetic waxes that come out of the container with no heating required. It is beeswax with a lot of oils, and no lanolin. Surprisingly, even with other waxes, I have found applying oil first softens the hairs making my mustache more manageable (in particularly, because it is hard to get the wax to the base of the hairs). So, I have found this wax to have a good hold despite being soft to apply. I am allergic to anything with "perfume", or "fragrance" in the ingredients. This uses only essential oils and smells nice. Summary: My mustache is as wide as my face when curled. The wax is easy to use, and holds. The wax is non-allergenic. It also leaves the mustache more natural, or "fluffy" while giving full control of shape. Lastly, this would be perfect for a mustache above a beard where you want shape, but consistent texture and look.

says cedar fir, but i smell cedar pine? maybe my nose is broke. anyways, i like this. it takes moment to melt in the fingers, but then it applies smoothly and isn't too visible. tin is tiny, so can be portable if you need a touchup, which i guess speaks to my poor skills more than the product.

First time using mustache wax and I was not disappointed. IT TAKES PRACTICE! Dont think you're going to use it for the first time rushing out the door Monday morning. If it's your first time, start over a weekend. Use more than you think and work down to the least you need for desired look. The smell is nice and light. It either goes away or I get used to it fairly quickly. It melts quickly on my fingers, didnt leave chunks in my cookie duster. Although at first it feels stiff at first when I rub it into my whiskers, it does soften up quickly with the heat of my fingers. It holds pretty well I guess. I have a mix of textures in my mustache and the thicker stiffer ones held pretty well. I feel like breathing through my nose kinda keeps it too warm to hold better, but mouth brushing with a full beard usually indicates banjos. As a bonus I notice it seems to double as chapstick and skin moisturizer. Over the course of the day it gets worked into my lips and face skin and, even in the super cold weather we've had, my lips and face have been chapped and dry like usual. It does get rather hard during snowblowing fyi. And washes out easily in the shower. I'm going to try other brands for due diligence. As an introduction to mustache wax I'm very pleased. Will adjust my rating once I've had more experience perhaps. Reccomend for sure.

Fairly decent but not perfect. It definitely does not have a strong hold, but it does hold for a couple hours. It's a bit stiff from the tin, and I find i need to scrape a bit out, heat it up with a hair dryer to make it more malleable. It sits well while it lasts and is a solid 3/5 overall. The cedar fir scent is amazing and really contributed to why I enjoyed this product.

If I wanted a mustache wax with no smell at all, I would pick one. There are many, but I like it when the wax has some fragrance that makes me feel good. This smelled like nothing. Smelled less than raw beeswax. They should sell it as neutral or odorless mustache wax, and I feel that I was duped. NO! I don't recommend this product. UPDATE: This is a very honorable company that, after my unsatisfactory review, immediately sent me a different can of the product. This one was Citrus & Spice, and the fragrance is indeed very good. I need to change my previous 1-star review to 5 stars as this one is indeed very pleasant and does the job wonderfully. I believe the previous can was a bad unit, but the brand is a serious one that does not want its customers go unhappy. Thank you very much.

I got this for my brother as a gag gift for Christmas as he just started to grow a beard :) But little did I know, he came to a cowboy reenactment months later with a mustache all slick and twirled up. It looked great and did a terrific job holding up in the weather and he said he was very pleased with the product. It wasn't irritating and easy to wash out. He did say it was a learning curve to be patient with getting the balm out as it was hard in the tin due to cold weather, but there were plenty of ways he found to work with it.

I have been using the original hold and scent (white/tan) for about 3 years now. Hold and scent is awesome. I reordered in November 23 and and got the original but it was a different color - Orange. I contacted Mountaineer and asked if I got the right product and they confirmed I did and that it was a new formula they are trying out. They sent me a can of the original (white/tan) free as I was complaining that the hold was not as good as the white. Great customer service! To be honest I really prefer the new (orange) formula more after using for a few weeks. Here's the deal- The original white is great. It holds strong all day. Helped me train my mustache. Works great on a bad hair day to get a grip on the strays. The new original orange doesn't feel like a wax. It doesn't bead or pill up little wax balls. Much easier to reform your mustache later in the day than the white. Mustache feels and looks more full and loose rather than tight and hard with the white. After an hour it feels more dry. If your starting a new or training a mustache I recommend the white. If you have a trained and established mustache I recommend the orange. I hope Mountaineer puts both of these products on here for sale because I want access to both. In the meantime maybe you can request white or orange through the special instructions box when ordering.

This wax works great for the stash. It has no smell for those of you who are sensitive to scents or perfumes. The hold is strong enough to mold and shape.

Read reviews and decided to give it a try. Have never used wax before and was pleasantly satisfied with this product.. would definitely recommend this moustache wax.

It does not do the job, just like putting some honey on your mustache, not good for styling at all!!
