Adam Savage would call this a "minimum viable tool"
Nice device. Does the job. Whenever it dies I'll probably spring for something with more bells and whistles if I ever use it enough. I've seen videos where the device isn't grounded but mine was. Must be a revision they pushed out on later builds. I bought a set of hakko compatible tips and never tried the original ones. Heats up fast and I've done a fair amount of successful micro soldering with the iron with no prior experience. Can't be all that bad right? I've only used the hot air on shrink tubing so I can't speak much about it beyond that. It does get hot quick though. A YouTuber named Louis Rossman craps all over this device in a video but he also tends to sell competing products on his own site. He's admitted to this (not apologetically - just pragmatic) in other videos so don't hate on the dude for it, but understand there is bias there and he won't deny it as a point of integrity. Easily one of my favorite youtubers.

Hotter and Blows better than my ex wife
Has a cool off delay if you turn it off and back on again... i thought it broke on me but nope, just a safety feature..

Worthless product
Garbage. Totally unreliable. I will never purchase this brand name again.

Not what I expected.
To my understanding there should have been a digital readout of temperature for both the Solder Iron and the hot air rework but there is not. Only the hot air reads out on the display. The solder iron does not. I am going to have to modify this either by adding another display or doing some work to add a switch so I can see what the temperature is on either side. Totally disappointed.

Awesome Value!
Just used it for the first time and to my surprise it worked like a charm. For the money you can't beat this Rework Soldering Station, for everyday light duty work it's efficient, fast and dependable. The auto shutoff feature is a little tricky but works fine once you get used to placement in the cradle. All in all awesome value for the money. Thanks

Very nice for the price!
I haven't used my unit for its intended purpose yet, replacing some RAM chips, but I've fired it up and was happy with both the soldering iron and the heat gun. The soldering iron is good and heats up faster then my variable voltage Radio Shack iron. The heat gun worked well melting some hot glue and a random IC from a scrap board. The temp goes down and the fan stays on (cooling) when it is returned to the holster. The soldering tip included is not so bad although I did buy a pack of tips along with this purchase. The heat gun nozzles fitted tight and I did not have the impression that they would fall off during use. I was also pleasantly surprised to see this was a 750W unit and not a 500W as I was expecting. Overall I'm happy with this purchase and for light soldering duties it feels like dollars well spent.

Good entry level rework station
This is a pretty decent rework station for a great price, so I'm giving it 5 stars despite a few minor issues. First thing to mention is that I've read previous reviews where a complaint was regarding the non-grounded cord & plug. Well mine is equipped with a proper grounded cord & plug, so it seems that they may have read these reviews and upgraded that. Good on them! Second is the instruction manual is very poor, but probably the only thing I was reading it for was to figure out what the little plastic rod and wire were for, which isn't mentioned in the manual. it turns out to be a tool for moving SMD components, according to another review. Better to just use fine tweezers. Third is the weak magnetic switch in the hot air wand to cool it down when its put into the cradle. I just stuck a strong magnet onto the bottom of the metal bracket that supports the plastic cradle. Now it works well, switching the wand into cool down mode as soon as it's placed in it's cradle. Fourth is probably the biggest complaint and that's that it has only one solder tip included and that is a fine point which is only the best one for the job on occasion. Most of the time a fine chisel tip is the most appropriate. They should raise the price by a few bucks and include a small selection of tips. There is not any Baku tips available on Amazon, but it turns out they are the same as Hakko tips. I just ordered a selection of 10 Tecke tips which appear to be also the same measurements so should work and make the iron a better performer. Considering all this, I would still recommend this for any hobbyist.

Good value for the money
I have been using the 601D for the last few days and have been pleased with its performance. Easy to put together as things are really straight forward on the unit. I am a hobbyist tinkering with stereos and the iron heats up nicely for the work I needed it for. The added rework station is a nice addon, although I haven't used it other than for heat shrink. As others have posted I can't attest to the longevity of the unit but so far am happy with the results I am getting.

Pretty decent little machine
When it first arrived I was surprised how heavy it was, gave me a little more confidence...Pretty much plug and play right out of the box, tested heat gun which gets very hot and also shuts off when you put it on the stand. Same goes with the Soldering iron, heats up very quick...Soldering iron did feel a little on the cheaper side, however it does its job and for the price I definitely can't complain. Only thing I would add would be a 3 prong power plug as it's grounded to the case but not through the outlet and the power cord provided is very cheap, no big deal, if you're buying this you're more than capable of adding a new power plug and a ground. Seller shipped quick, only downfall is Purolator that always arrives late, which is not the sellers fault.

Accused of buying fake product from Amazon by Baku's customer rep unbelievable
The soldering station and hot air rework unit both work OK but there was no feet on my sottering station and there was problems with the hot air gun not turning off because of the magnets in the holder that you place it in and Baku's customer service was absolutely unbelievable they accused me of buying a fake machine on Amazon so they didn't have to answer my questions about their product I found this to be Disgusting Not Amazon's fault The temperature settings are precise otherwise it is good value for the money I just didn't like the experience with the Baku customer rep maybe she had a bad day I don't know
