Great for 20-30 lb turkeys
These are great for lacing a 20+ lb turkey. Was looking specifically for large poultry tools because of the growing family on Thanksgiving. Larger needles are easier to hold with wet hands and less likely to stab your finger. These are large enough to put in the dishwasher. May be overkill/difficult for a small roast.

These basting needles are the best quality
These needles are of top quality. They are perfect for closing up your turkey for roasting. I believe these are even good for other types of baking. Easy to set up to threading. Shared one with my chef grandchild. They were thrilled.

It does what it does
Just a bit of a rant though, this this is longer than I expected. I mean, it doesn't need to be THIS long, it just makes it a bit harder to sew the meat because it's too long. I would recommend a shorter, curved needle. But if this is your thing, then there's no complaint about price/quality.

When you need to sew up an Alligator...
It was my 33rd wedding anniversary and my husbands 60th birthday. He wanted to smoke an alligator. Okay, that will be fun!!! Little did I know that we'd need to apply sewing skills to the poor thing. We've had ZERO experience in sewing up an alligator. I went to Amazon for supplies. They had just about everything we needed. These needles...Oh My Gracious!!! Huge!!! The needles were sturdy, sharp pointed and easy to thread. I think everyone should sew up an alligator at least once in their life, haha
