I wanted a clay that wouldn't dry out and would be good for beginners as this was my first time using clay so I chose the Sculpey III Polymer Clay. The clay was easy to work with and it came out how I wanted it to look. Using clay sculpting tools and the blue collage I made in Photoshop as a reference, I made the model in two hours. I baked it in my domestic oven using the guideline on Sculpey's website wich was 130°C in the oven at 15 min per 1/4 in (6 mm) thickness. I would definitely buy this again.

**Q: dumb question but i've never ordered clay before. approximately how big is 8oz of clay? lol can someone give me an idea how big the block is?**
A: It's not a dumb question. lol :) An 8oz block is around 1in tall2in wide, and 5in long. So you get plenty of clay! :)

**Q: What is the difference between sculpey iii and just plain old sculpey?  i want to use it to make large beads and ornaments.**
A: Hello,The original sculpey just comes in White and Terra Cotta and the III comes in a variety of colors and sizes.  The III is also a little stronger clay and has less of a filler.  If you are going to be making large beads and ornaments the manufacturer suggested that you put a compressed ball of aluminum foil inside the ball.  That way you less clay as well.Thanks

**Q: Can this be painted? If so, with what kinds of paint?**
A: Yes, I'd also use acrylic paints.

**Q: Is sculpy waterproof**
A: I think so. It's very  porous though. I put an acrylic media on the finished piece to seal it.
