String World Activity Set

My 5-yr. old and 6-yr. old daughters enjoyed playing with this toy in the 2 weeks following Christmas. However, they used up the string pretty quickly and now I can't find refills. I called customer service for Jakks to find out where in my area I could find refills, and they could do no better than Google it! (As if I hadn't thought of that!) The rep said to check major retailers like Toys R Us, Walmart, and Target; Amazon; and Ebay. Well, the refills aren't on Amazon or Ebay, and my local Toys R Us doesn't have them. I'll check the other stores next time I happen to be there, but it's a pretty sad excuse for customer service that can't look up where in a particular area you can buy their product. Shouldn't they KNOW that their product isn't on Amazon and Ebay? Incredible. Too bad, it was a pretty fun toy.

This was given to my 8 year old for Christmas and we were both excited to try this toy out but that soon changed! The string in her set was hard to pull out and kept breaking... also be aware it's covered in glue so it can be a little messy if you have to keep pulling glue covered string out due to breaking! Thankfully I paid very little for this set! I do not recommend paying full retail value that's for sure!

After all the negative reviews I thought about throwing this out and not going through the hassle. So glad I didn't, the pens work great, and the kit is a lot of fun. My daughter (8 years) is having a blast making jewelry, and decorating the dolls. Well worth the [...] I paid for it, but definitely not regular price.

My 6 yr old received this toy for Christmas. The glue was not dried up as in other reviews. She has made a few string projects and has had fun with it. Overall, a good product, for us anyway.

So my daughter opens this up on Christmas morning and being very excited wants to try it out. We open up everything and get it all set up. I get the pens out and the end of the string sticking out of the pen that you pull on breaks off...of every single pen. There is hard dried up glue in the tip of all the pens. I've spent 20 minutes with tweezers, needles, etc trying to pry the string out and it won't come out. There are also little black specs in the glue part of the pink pen (almost looks like little bugs or dirt) which is covering that part of the string inside the pen.I think the idea is a wonderful concept but the execution of the product needs to have a little more thought put into it. It's almost like no one tried out the product before they put it into production.For anyone else having this problem here is their customer service website. Bought this for my 6 year old grand-daughter this past Chrismas. Boy, what a mistake that was. Very hard and frustrating to put together and use for an adult, much less a child. Maybe it would be easier for a "seasoned" crafter to work with? String World Activity Set

I got this as a gift for my 8 year old niece. She was intrigued by it, but even with adult supervision it did not work very well. I would not recommend the purchase of this product.

I bought this for my 6 year old granddaughter for Christmas, as she loves crafts. My daughter called me Christmas day to let me know the glue strings were dried up, unusable. She said it looked like it would have been fun...My daughter and Son-in-law tried everything as my granddaughter waited patiently to play with this. I was totally disappointed as this was a gift to my granddaughter for Christmas. I had to purchase something else and she had to wait for her gift from grandma... Bottom line.. good concept, needs to go back to the drawing board.Don't waste your money or time!
