They were either cracked or had shrunk enough they they needed to be replaced. I purchased this to replace the old ones. I live up in Wisconsin and even in the 30-40 degree days that we had last week, I was able to install this and the material was pliable enough for me to be able to work it into the channel. It looks really nice when it is done and seals a lot better than the strips would have.One caution, I purchased the 5/8" for what I thought was 5/8" channel, but found it too loose and had to purchase this 3/4" which fit perfectly. Measure the inside width and if in doubt, add the 1/8" and get the 3/4". ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent replacement product *by N***6 on Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2020* I first ordered the sample set to help determine which size fit and which color best suited my taste and Motor Home. I settled on Red to replace the original thin white plastic screw molding that was shrinking and coming off in high winds.This material is quite substantial, yet very easy to install. I suggest NOT stretching it during install. Just lay it in the track bottom edge first and tuck top edge in last while putting slight pressure back towards your starting point.Its worth saying Amazon and the Supplier worked hard to get the product to me considering some of the obstacles presented by the pandemic. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy Install for Major Visual Improvent *by 5***L on Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2019* Bought a 1999 vintage motorhome that needed lots of TLC.There were 2 different types of vinyl trim on the exterior, and this one fit perfectly on the horizontal roofline area.Old stuff was cracked, faded, dirty, and stiff. Did I mention dirty? When pulling the old trim all kinds of crap flew everywhere. Had to thoroughly clean the track with mineral spirits and a pick in order for the new trim to seat perfectly. Well worth the time to clean and re-caulk everywhere.Installed fast and easily on the hot 90 degree plus day. Fit perfectly, looks AWESOME! Very pleased.
