Reliable Power & Smooth Install – Great Upgrade for Any Kitchen
I installed the Waste Maid 10-US-WM-058-3B and it’s been a solid upgrade. The motor has great power—it handles everyday food waste easily without jamming, and it runs smoother and quieter than older units I’ve worked with. Installation was straightforward, especially if you’ve done disposals before. The compact design is a plus because it doesn’t take up too much space under the sink, which is always appreciated. What I really like is how consistent it performs—no weird noises, no clogging issues so far, and it drains properly without backing up. It feels durable and well-built, not like some of the cheaper disposals out there. Overall, great value for the price. If you’re replacing an old or weak unit, this is definitely worth it.

This thing is powerful and sturdy
My old disposal leaked and ruined my cabinet floor, I almost didn't want to put a new one back in. But I got this one because it did not cost much and my wife insisted on having one. Well it's been a year and this thing is great, no problem whatsoever, glad I did. It's probably more powerful than I needed, this thing is powerful, but surprisingly quiet. Easy to install, came with everything I needed. Don't think I'll need a new one for a long while

Good price, but missing hardware.
Unit is a little louder than others, but at that price I can't complain. The whisper quiet ones get left on by accident so I won't have that problem here. My only complaint is missing hardware. The rubber splash guard and the two bolts to attach to the plumbing was missing. A trip to home Depot takes a star off of anything. Other than that, it installed easily on the old units anchor plate and the old units splash guard fit on it as well. All in all. It would have been a five star if I didn't have to run to the hardware store.

Waste Maid 10-US-WM-058-3B Garbage Disposal - 7 Months of Use Review
The TLDR First: It runs great. Isn't too loud. Solid built. Compact compared to most. Chops surprisingly well for its 1/2 hp. After 7 months continuous use in a household of 2 adults I have no complaints. I am still very satisfied with my choice. Factor in the very affordable price point and you've got yourself a solid buy. I give it my full recommendation (for what it's worth) with no caveats - which is rare for me. More details: I was initially concerned a 1/2 hp unit (of any brand) would be a little under powered making me wish I ponied up for a 3/4 or even a 1 hp unit. However, I was on a strict budget and wanted to conserve space, which the higher hp units can cost twice as much and be twice the size (comparing all brands 1/2 hp to their 1 hp offerings). After reading up about modern disposals, I learned that a decent quality 1/2 hp unit should be plenty for my use profile (2 adults that cook most our own meals - but we don't get crazy). As long as I don't try to grind up a whole turkey in it or abuse the life out of it, it should suffice, to be clear. And indeed, it has. In fact, if I went with a 1 hp unit instead, I would have purchased far more machine than I needed while wasting money and valuable space doing so. I installed it myself which was pretty straight forward and turned out perfect, but I wouldn't recommend self-install unless you're the handy type and perhaps have replaced/fixed any under sink drain sections before. But if you are comfortable doing something like replacing a P trap or leaky sink drain flange on your own then this will be well in your skill set range. If I was going to have installed, I would probably have looked for a handyman on thumbtack with basic plumbing skills. It would be dramatically cheaper than a plumber. Just my opinion, not a recommendation. It's rather quiet for being a disposal and doesn't vibrate the whole sink, which I was super impressed with. Note - I grew up in a household with a disposal that lasted from before I was born to well after I was grown and out of the house, and it always just worked, but it was loud, I mean dumptruck-crashing-into-nitroglycerin-plant level of loud. And it shook the entire sink and counter. So my bar for comparison might be a little skewed. Maybe I'll check in here at 1.5 - 2 years of use and gives an update. The only thing it has to prove now is longevity. I won't expect 20+ years out of it like the old one my parents had, but that one was made before “planned obsolescence” became the standard and consumers didn't really push back, but that is a different discussion.

Seems good for now
5 stars for now. I’ve seen a lot of reviews that claim otherwise, but time will tell. It was easy to install, it runs quietly, and the price was good for what it is. It seems like it will be durable and the power is good. The jury is still out until it breaks I guess.

Worth it!
Super quiet, works great, better than the one I got for $185.00 two years ago. And it used same aunt hardware so that was cool. Don’t forget to knock out the plug inside the dishwasher hook up like I did if you are hooking one up. I rent and it was a cheap enough purchase so I didn’t have to have my landlord come over.
