Grand Sud Chardonnay Dry Bag in Box, 3 L

I'm normally pretty useless at differentiating the notes in wine, but I could pickup a bit of the citrus and a touch of peach too. I usually find chardonnay dry and tart, but really enjoyed the lighter and sweeter jolt that the fruity undertone gives to the wine.The amount of wine that you get and the no-nonsense packaging make this a great product to take to parties/large meals and share with family and friends.

This wine’s fine. It’s decidedly medium, maybe just touching on the dry side, with a fairly well-balanced bit of tartness that’s (for better or worse) quite moreish.You’d be hard pushed to identify any real unique character to it, but that isn’t really the point- this is an “on top” generic white wine that’s not going to win any taste awards but is a reliable companion either in a home kitchen where you might want a little tipple infrequently (the box says it lasts up to six weeks after you’ve opened it), or alternatively as a way of taking three bottles’ worth of wine to a party where you might ordinarily just take one.It’s a convenient box as well. It will sit in your fridge door, and the pouring valve is a simple process that’s easy to manage with one hand when holding a glass in the other. Opening the box for the first time wasn’t quite as easy as I’d anticipated (no I wasn’t already drunk!), with the instructions on the underside of the box, but that’s a knack that will make opening the second box much easier.As for eco credentials I don’t know whether it’s more ‘green’ than buying four recyclable glass bottles- I think perhaps the amount of plastic involved in the bag and the valve means it would score less on a ‘green’ points tally but never mind.It’s reasonably good value- at time of writing it costs less than you’d be able to get four decent 75cl bottles of supermarket white wine for, even without delivery- and it’s nicely convenient. If push came to shove and you had to admit that you like drinking white wine but you don’t really know much about which one tastes good, this will do you very nicely.

I’ve never bought boxed wine before but now feel I’ve been missing out for years as this tastes absolutely incredible with a very refreshing and sharp taste and also the convenience of having a tap to pour it and the box keeps it fresh too is just brilliant. I will definitely be buying more of this in future.

This is a light and fruity white chardonnay. It's 3litre contents should provide enough wine for an evening. The wine itself is a clear light colour, sweet in flavor, and Incredibly fruity for a Chardonnay. The cartoon that it comes in has a dispensing nozzle that is far better than you would find on most, it's easy to set up and pause very quickly, taking less than a few seconds to fill a glass up. It's also worth noting that the nozzle appears to be normal drip, which makes it significantly better than most other boxed wine, and definitely better than the growing range of keggs that appear to be coming on the market. If you like a nice fruity white wine this is absolutely your right choice.

You wouldn’t have to look hard to find a superior chardonnay (at a price) but we quite enjoyed this. We thought it pale golden in colour with pear drops on the nose. It’s quite dry and citrussy with a little (but not much) of the butter you might expect from chardonnay. Oak? No sign of any. Vanilla? No. Velvety? No. The finish, though, is fairly long and really quite pleasant.There’s a lot to be said for wine boxes, especially if you don’t get through a full bottle once opened. We find them ideal for taking on holiday, especially cruise ships (not that all lines let you take alcohol on board). I’m not sure we’d have guessed this was chardonnay but, at the equivalent of less than £5/bottle, it’s a quaffable, easy-drinking wine representing good value. Three and a half stars.

Despite the very average looking box, it's a far better than average Chardonnay inside, with a light fruity taste.I'm no wine connoisseur, but I have tasted much worse for this sort of money.

Yes it is wine from a box but it's still taste very nice, fits in the fridge easily to chill. Easy to step up the tap and decent size for a weekend away for a group of people.It is a dry white wine

Crisp, acidic and lightly fruity with a green apple skin finish, this is a very drinkable wine when chilled and matches well with chicken and even sweet dishes where the acidity cuts through the sweetness. Fairly low in alcohol so perfect for a family meal in the sun on a Sunday afternoon.

Excellent vin accompagne très bien les salades viandes blanches..
