and this one was a good size, soft
I did a lot of looking around at blankets, and this one was a good size, soft, and about the price I think this sort of thing should cost. So far, I'm a fan, and am happy I didn't shell out for a fancier one (or settle for a tiny, plastic-y blanket). You can feel the wires, but it doesn't really bother me. The fabric is very soft, and while this is a good size for one smaller person, I am 5'7" and wish it was a bit longer so I could get my feet and shoulders under without curling up. Still, I just curl up and it's all good.I do wish it had a timer, but I get around this by just getting it nice a toasty on the high setting and then turn it off when I'm ready to sleep. This works great for me, but wouldn't for someone who wants it on for an extended period of time.I find that the low setting is about right for me if I'm sitting around inside in autumn weather, but I'll put it on high once in a while to really get the chill gone. If you REALLY want to get warm, put it on high and put another blanket on top. :) People who say this doesn't get warm enough... I suspect something is wrong with theirs - even the low setting is noticeably warm.

Great Sunbeam Microplus Heated Throw, Leopard will last a few years, as long as you wash infrequently on GENTLE + NO DRYER
I needed something for the chilly nights and naps and this blanket is perfect. I bought it "used" for a reduced price of $28 with free shipping (new ones were $50+). I was apprehensive about buying a used electric blanket but it wasn't really used, but just had been opened so it was really in brand new condition. Works great and heats up very quickly. It has an auto shut off after 4 hours of use which is a nice feature. It has 3 setting slow med high. All 3 settings are true to their name, the low is low, med is med and the high is nice and toasty. I had already ordered another product called "comfy toes" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ENRCK18/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 last year and it died out on me by the 2nd winter. So not sure how long this throw will last but I'm thinking at least 3+ winters (I've had this SUNBEAM microplush heated throw before, they last long as long as you don't wash them infrequently on delicate and do not put through a dryer. I had a brown one before and made the mistake of washing it on regular cycle and dryer about 10 times and it stopped working. So this time I won't let my cat lay on it so I don't have to wash so much and never again wash it on any cycle but GENTLE cool water and NO DRYER! Hang dry it. Very happy with this blanket, soft, snugly, and looks nice.

My chilly wife seems satisfied...
So I can't admit to having much firsthand knowledge with this heated throw. I bought it for my wife. She's constantly cold. As a general rule, I don't need supplemental heat. I make enough of it on my own. And I have a wonderful, thick, protective layer of... Well, let's just call it fleece. But her? She's always cold. Especially at night. Especially in our den. Especially in winter. Especially in Michigan. So for Christmas, I bought her a heated throw (NOTE: not from me, it was from our 5-year old daughter, but I'm taking credit because I bought it because the kid's cheap). And from all information, the wife likes it. It's really soft. It plugs into the wall fairly well. It heats up nicely and quickly. There's not much of a delta between "medium" and "hot," but the "low" setting is pretty allright. It cleans up pretty well, as well; the throw a veteran of a number of spilled Cokes and baby throw-up. The chunky kind. Poor thing probably has some PTSD.Anyway, it doesn't smell funny (either before or after the throw-up event(s)) like some of these microplush things can. It feels nice. The pink is a nice shade of pink -- not too fussy and not too reddish. The controls are straightforward and sensible; they're right where you'd expect them to be. It seems like Sunbeam really nailed it with this one.Like I said, I don't have much firsthand experience with this heated throw. But looking over at my wife, contentedly snoozing beneath it, I have to conclude that it's doing its job.

No static, better than a space heater!
This black-white blanket is solid black on the back side, and is 2 layers of thin microfiber that feels almost cotton like, rather than polar-fleece like. It doesn't fill with static in our dry winter house, which is novel since all our other blankets light up like a christmas tree whenever you move. The heat it provides is a lot more targeted than a space heater, and far more safe, as well as much more energy efficient. The heat settings are strong and warm up quickly. I have only used it up to medium and it gets pretty hot for my liking, so "Hot" should be used with care when you're awake so you can get it off your skin if it's too warm. My cats usually hate the feel of electric blankets (the synthetic fleece feel, plus the stiff wires) but the moment this one gets warm, I have 2 kitties battling each other for the best sleep spot in the house. I don't worry much with the 3 hour "auto off" timer, either. If I get up and the cat is still asleep, I can just leave it on.I bought a second one to slip into the bottom half of our king-sized bed to warm up before bed. It works amazingly well vs cold bed feet! The small size and 3 hours limit is great since our winter bedding is quite warm enough without help, other than chilly feet.

It's definitely a good buy.
Smaller than a conventional blanket however does the job really well. It's definitely a good buy.
