Review: Worth paying the little extra - After some research into cheaper alternative lamps, I'm pleased that I paid a bit extra for this excellent Architect Desk Lamp. From opening the box to switching on took 2 minutes - everything clicked into place without the need for any tools. The metal base is reassuringly solid but has a footprint of just 220 mm x 140 mm and is flat, so you can put other items on top of it. It's an attractive addition to any desktop or work area - I use it when I'm checking photo prints. It has a pleasing and even spread of light, with a useful and accurate range of colour temperatures. I also like the way that the controls are all on a single bar at the front of the shade.
Review: An excellent lamp for sketching - Bought this lamp for pencil sketching. It provides a good even light with minimal shadows, which was a bugbear with ordinary spot lamps. I found the preset 'work' lamp settings a bit bright so used a slightly lower setting. Haven't used a lot of the adjustments but they're there if need. Came well packed and straight forward to put together, just 3 clicks and it was done. Feels sturdy and well made.

From opening the box to switching on took 2 minutes - everything clicked into place without the need for any tools. The metal base is reassuringly solid but has a footprint of just 220 mm x 140 mm and is flat, so you can put other items on top of it. It's an attractive addition to any desktop or work area - I use it when I'm checking photo prints. It has a pleasing and even spread of light, with a useful and accurate range of colour temperatures.
