Columbia Men's Whirlibird Iv Interchange Jacket Whirlibird IV Interchange Jacket

Purchased this jacket a size larger than I usually take, and I'm glad. This jacket replaces another 3-1 jacket from Columbia that I had for 30 years (the zipper broke). What advancements in materials makes this toasty warm. Not to sure on the Velcro at the zipper (old one had snaps, easier to zip up and down), but that the only qualm. Don't hesitate to buy a Columbia jacket, quality, thoughtful design. Here's to hoping this one will last another 30 years.

I've owned Columbia 2-in-1 jackets for a long time. They just keep getting lighter and warmer. This one's getting to the point I wish it wasn't so dang warm! I go out to run the snow blower and drop 5lbs sweating I swear! This would be great to be out all day skiing. Pair it with the right snow pants, gloves, and hat and you could survive Hoth! Great construction....though there's pockets and zippers on this that just don't make sense to me. Not really great for fall/spring use unless you take off the shell and wear one of the two parts.

Must-have benefits include day-long comfort and breathability, underarm venting, external (zip) and internal pockets, detachable hood and adjustable cuffs.Jacket washes like a dream! Dirt rings around the neck, wrist and edges around the hip can be removed with Oxi gel or spray cleaner and laundered in the washing machine. Snap closures allow the wearer to detach and reattach the hood. Hang to dry in a well-ventilated area; never put into the dryer.Biggest criticism we have are the zippers' longevity- despite this jacket's excellent construction and fantastic features, the zippers are its nemesis. I'd love to see Columbia incorporate the use of YKK zippers into this product. Almost all of my Columbia jackets have had to have the zippers replaced after 4 years, although the jacket looks and functions like new.
