Another great Spydie rescuer, I'm just torn between this and the Atlantic Salt. I like the extra features of the Assist, but H1 is great... Help!

Get this one. I've got it and my friend has the Atlantic salt. The assist has a beefy handle and unless you're going to be in the ocean with it, it's just a better, heavier knife. His feels like a toy, the assist feels like a serious tool. Its also got whistle and a glass breaker. If you need those ever and don't have them you'll wish you did.

Is there one with a plain edge instead of serrated?

Not sure but after owning this ferocious cutting edge I NEVER want a smooth edge again. This blade cuts nylon rope clean in one swipe where a razor blade knife takes multiple attempts.

Where is this Knife made ?

Seki City, Japan. The center of Japanese cutlery manufacture for centuries. I own one and give them out to Air Evac nurses, paramedics and firefighter friends. It's the only rescue knife I trust.
