Outstanding germination rate and vigorous plants
I planted only about one-third of the seeds from the packet this spring, starting them indoors in small cups before transplanting them outside. I was genuinely impressed by the germination rate. Every single seed I planted sprouted, giving me essentially a 100% germination rate. Even more impressive, every seedling developed into a strong, healthy, vigorous plant. The plants grow quickly, produce beautiful flowers in a wide range of colors, and have been one of the easiest flowers I’ve grown from seed. I still have plenty of seeds left for next season, making this packet an excellent value. Based on my experience, I would definitely buy these seeds again.

A garden must in my opinion
First time growing these and wow!!! I didn’t know they climbed! I’ve gotten a lot of different colors, it’s been really fun to see what each day brings. I don’t find the taste very good, but the benefits to the soil and flowers (they smell lovely too!!) definitely will have me planting again! Well, I’m assuming I won’t actually have to plant, there’s tons and tons of seed pods already. I started them in a tray and transplanted once they popped up through the soil and I lost none. I’ve even had to pull the whole plant and relocate them, and they didn’t die afterwards just seem to use reserves until it rerooted and started to grow again. Seem pretty hardy or they really like the veggie blend soil I topped the beds off in. Also, seems the deer and elk apparently don’t like the taste of them either! I had a few nibbled spots and then it’s all been left completely alone. That’s also a win!

Seeds produced plants well
I wanted to plant these around my vegetables and herbs as they are a natural deterrent plant for many pests. These came nicely packaged and secure. Very easy to plant and grow well in partial shade, especially in spring and early summer weather on the island. A majority of these seeds sprouted and have grown very well. Others came up later in the year where I had planted them previously. Well worth the price. I have been able to get wonderful plants for 3+ years from this purchase. Bonus is the blooms are edible.

Time will tell, but so far looking good
Update: 5/17/2020 I am in love with these nasturtiums! I recently discovered that you can eat the flower petals, leaves AND green seeds (like eating a wasabi pea! they really pack a punch like horseradish!). In the end, nothing I put in my raised beds propagated, but the in-ground direct seeded plants are doing really well. Overall, very low germination. I planted approx 16 seeds and only ended up with three viable plants that are still alive today. Having said that, I have basically ignored them until the last month when I was researching how to use them as food and started snacking. They survived many months with free range chickens, zero frost protection, no fertilizer (other than random chicken poo) and somewhat clay type soil. Very happy with these and will be growing more. ~~ Purchased: April 22, 2019 Planted: approx. May 10th, 2019 Location: Northern California Gardener Skill: Novice I followed some instructions (can't recall if part of the packaging or something I read online), but I put a small crack/slit in each seed and soaked in water overnight. I doubled seeded each direct seed hole (I have had problems with germination in the past due to poor soil). I had hoped they would germinate a little sooner than they did. I planted some in raised beds (with some shade from other plants) and some direct in the ground and full sun. I don't have any flowers yet (June 21, 2019) but I have some nice leaf growth even in the over crowded/leafy areas. Based on how it looks today, I expect to get some flowers in the next few weeks in my direct sun area, but probably nothing in my crowded raised beds. For those plants seeded direct into the ground, the ones planted with cucumbers are performing better than those I planted between potatoes and squash plants and they get approximately equal water and sun.

Beautiful and tasty!
I’ve had great success with these seeds most of them germinated and the plants were healthy and beautiful with a full range of colored flowers. Not only are these beautiful but they are also edible! And they easily reseed. I recommend them. We’ve planted these two years now and will plant again this year.
