I’m guessing it is either leather or a quality manufactured leather. I have two pair of the Carmela. However, the footbed where the thong loop is attached to the shoe is somewhat uncomfortable. Not a deal breaker but very noticeable. The heal is also slightly elevated compared to other Vionic sandals I have. I prefer a flat rather than slight elevation but shoe is comfortable and stylish compared to other Vionic sandals I own.
