Why would you spend upwards to 30 bucks for a simple canvas bag? I was looking for a small haversack type bag to carry with when I go backpacking. I like to explore when I get to camp and this gives me the ability to leave my pack at camp and bring some water and snacks when exploring. This bag is quality. Comes applied with a wax coating with is awesome. Bags like these you can easily waterproof and continue to for the life of the bag. With either wax coating or wax and linseed oil. Looks to be double stitched at all the corners and where the strap attaches to the back of the bag. IMO, you are getting a quality bag here that will last for years of use. BUY IT!!!!! Review: Fabulous day pack - First off, the shipping was quick. I received the bag in 3 days versus the anticipated 5 days. Cudos to the shipping department! I bought this bag for various reasons, a quick day pack, a dump sack when shooting or using it for essentials while hiking... a general all purpose bag. Measurements can be misleading, especially when your only point of reference is ruled lines. What can you stick in it? I took it hiking and had a 6” knife, 32oz water, firebox round fire puck, 5 snack bars, and a few other odds and ends (550 cordage and bank line). Plenty of room without any issue! Very pleased. My test at home fit a 5X7 survival blanket, 40’ 550 cord, knife, and small amount of tinder. I knew it was big enough to take out for a quick hike or even several hours out without being too big. Waxed canvas... forgot about how waxy it made everything. A bit of a downside unless your prepared for it. Not a downside because after all... it’s a waxed canvas bag. Just be prepared for everything inside to be waxy. One improvement request. While hiking, the flap kept getting lighted by the wind. Not a show stopper, but perhaps a added pocket could be added to the flap. Nothing obnoxious. But something big enough for a pocket stove or something. That would keep the flap down better... I may stitch one in just to see how it’ll work. Great craftsmanship! Love the bag and the endless ideas I can use it for!

American made still means something
As advertised this is designed for bushcrafting and foraging. Both of which I personally don't endeavor to participate. Nothing anti- this or -that, just not my cup-of-tea. This was purchased to reduce my EDC to minimalist levels. The handmade quality and initial perceived sturdiness (and longevity of this haversack) impressed me. It looks simple and without actually holding this prior to purchase, I took a leap of faith that American-made quality and pride of maker would not steer me wrong. Thank you Campcraft for instilling in me that we can confidently purchase an American made product. I use this as an Urban haversack to carry an umbrella, extra gloves and scarf, dry socks, glasses, snacks and the obligatory phone paraphernalia. Alright it's a flippin murse ! Indiana Jones sported one. I gave five stars for value for money (39 bucks for a canvas bag?) because if you've ever tried waterproofing/waxing a canvas anything you can appreciate the laborious work required to get it right. It ain't easy folks, at least not for me. Anyway the money is staying HERE and not going ...........you can fill it in yourself. Give them a try and as stated you can always return it if you aren't satisfied. But I think you will be.

well made and will become one of my everyday carry items when in the outdoors
This classic Haversack has proven to be just right for my hiking, biking, kayaking and hunting gear. Perfect size to carry cordage, small first aid kit, fire starting gear, weather protection, compass and map and signalling gear. Just grab it and go. Very convenient.

Great Haversack!!
I’ve got both the big one and this standard haversack. Let me tell you the waxing is perfection. You can tell this is high quality craftsmanship. I like the standard traditional for shorter trips into the woods or using it as a food sack with the larger one holding my gear. Thank you for making an amazing product!

Excellent choice for bushcrafting, foraging, getting back to basics.
This is a great quality, first class over the shoulder bag! A “return to basics” approach to time spent in the woods. When we take a hard look at how few things we really need as opposed to all of the “stuff” we think we need, then we can “lighten the load” and, in doing so, benefit both physically and mentally, as nature intended.

Good Quality with a traditional feel
It is exactly what you think it should be plus a little better. If I was out camping and a quartermaster handed me this bag and told me it was dinner, I would expect to open it up and find some hardtack, salted pork and some coffee. If I got an PB&J, a can of coke and a little Debbie Cake I would feel like life was a lie.
