Is this compatible with android phones or just apple phones?

It will work with any Android or Apple device so long as it is NFC compatible. This is typically found in phones made within the past few years and is becoming a common feature in new smartphones.

Can i use more than one machine for just one account?

Yes you can .just link each reader to same account you use for banking

Can I pre-set the amount to collect? We play music for charity at gigs and want people in the audience to just step up and donate (eg) £2.

Not sure why Divi has answered this ‘yes you can’ because it’s not possible - been chatting to the SumUp team asking the exact same thing (I’m a street performing musician) and they said it isn’t possible on any of there devices. I was going to buy for the same reason. Save your money and get a different reader where you can do this.

Can I use one of these in my van linked to the same business account as the Sumup machine I keep in my shop?

Hi Monzta. Yes, this is possible. Our card readers are not linked to any account in particular and there is no limit to how many can be used with a particular account. If you plan on using more than one card reader simultaneously, we would recommend setting up employee accounts. These allow you to log into the App on two different smartphones/tablets at once, connect to the card reader and accept payments. These also allow you to differentiate the payments in the Dashboard so you can tell which sales were from the van and which sales were from the shop. Please see the link below for more details.
