My molds are generally polyester, resin as it is less expensive. The parts I choose to mold are usually made of epoxy resin. You can use the wax for either or. Make sure you have an ample layer of wax, that is coats, for your plug, to enable separation. The same for your mold, and the first time you use your mold, more coats than normal until the mold is seasoned. I also spray on an alcohol water-based PVA once the mold is wax. This helps with the release.
