Black Widow Motorcycle Hitch Carrier with Ramp, 600 lb Capacity

This is a great buy if you like to travel and take your bike with you. I've carry my Honda CBR1000RR with no problems. Great quality material. Very firm and easy to install.

This is the Hot Setup. No trailer to take up space, and to slow your travel time. I did buy a HitchRider to clamp the carrier better.

Bought the 600 lb carrier to use with my sleeper van so that I can travel with my bike without needing to pull a trailer, so I wanted something sturdy that I can drive thousands of miles with confidence. The bike is a Kawasaki Versys 650cc that weighs about 450 lbs. The carrier seemed heavier than I expected in the box but assembly wasn't difficult and, once assembled, was relatively easy for my wife and I to install into the hitch. The ramp is long and makes for an easy slope to push the bike up, although getting it into the final cradle area takes a bit more effort and I'm still not sure that I have the cradle in the proper position - the instructions are weak in that regard. 4 straps ties it down but you need to make sure they are seriously tight, otherwise it will rock a lot. Love how the ramp stores on the carrier. My main concern was the handle bar hitting the back of the van (window) so we strapped a thick bath towel on the grip, but in the end it wasn't necessary because the bike stayed in place quite well. Drove about 350 miles with it the first time and once I got over my anxiety, it was all good. After a while I hardly noticed it was there. I will say that the bike seems to lean a bit far toward the front end and isn't quite as level as I'd hoped it would be, but it seems ok that way. Also disappointed that the hitch sleeve thing came loose both times I used it - one of the four bolts backed off about half an inch from vibrations making the whole thing a lot less useful. That's another component that the instructions could be improved on with regard to ensuring it's situated in the proper place; I put it on but have no idea if I did it properly. Unloading was super easy. Something additional I added was extra tail lights that connect to my trailer connector to add more lights and help prevent anyone from rear-ending me. The strap bars stick out a significant distance beyond the bike so it would be a good idea to tie on a bright yellow piece of fabric to alert the vehicle behind you of where the thing ends. Maybe I'm paranoid but one of my fears is getting rear-ended and screwing up the carrier, my bike, or both. Overall I'm mostly happy with the product but need to put it to a real test this summer on a very long road trip.

I was waiting for this to be back in stock to write a review! Buy it! I have a Honda CBR 300! I went from Arizona to Wisconsin and back!! No issues!!! I love this ramp! Best purchase ever! Yes! You have to get used to it bouncing some! It’s sturdy! Just used another ratchet strap if you need to! I checked every stop just because! No issues! Love it. It’s heavy!! You need two people to put it on and load your bike. (Unless you have a dirt bike) I have a 1500 classic. You can feel the weight, but once I put tow mode on it was fine!

Seemingly a well-designed product. Assembles easily. Nice finish. Unfortunately there is one enormous flaw: The steel bars that the bike tie-downs attach to are bolted to the metal tray the bike sits on. They do not attach in any way to the steel gussets that support the tray. I hauled my BMW F800GS (455 pound wet weight) about 30 miles on the carrier and it was unbelievably disconcerting. While driving, the bike rocks fore and aft maybe ten degrees as the carrier tray flexes. When you stop from basically any speed, the bike oscillates fore and aft for 8-10 seconds before finally coming to a stop. This could have been fixed by placing the tiedown crossbars 1" closer to the thick gussets and through-bolting them together. Four more holes, four more nuts and bolts, and this thing would be solid as a rock. Unfortunately, it has one massive design flaw that cannot be remedied without major structural repairs. This thing would probably be fine for a 200 pound dirt bike on local roads but it is downright harrowing to use with a larger bike - and my bike is nowhere near the weight limit of the unit. I submitted a return but there is no local dropoff option. You have to disassemble the carrier, repackage it, and ship it at your own expense, which is practically impossible given the size and weight of the unit. The seller offered a token refund instead, which is offensive given the glaring design defect in the product. Buy a MotoTote or something else if you're hauling anything more than a little dirt bike.

I was very skeptical when buying it as it does not have a spot to really tie off to on the side of the bike other than the four rings. I put it together in about 14 minutes and mounted it to my vehicle. I then put the bike up on it by myself and strapped it down by myself. I am sure I over strapped it with 5 ratchets but I’m like that. If it needs four, it gets 5, etc. anyway, long story short, I kept going around ratcheting and straightening for about another 10 minutes and we’ll, it never shifted. I drove it about 600 miles over back country roads and highways and pot holes and road construction. It made it. It did the job. Lightweight? Not at all. Sturdy? Yes. Easy to put together? Yes and with the right tools it’s very quick. I did use a locking pin for my travel rather than the included pin and clip pin. Also, it does NOT come with straps. Get yourself some good ones that you feel comfortable with and have the proper load and break ratings. One thing about it though was trying to put the ramp on the storage pins, with how I strapped the base of the motor mount it brought the strap over the mounting location so I stored the ramp inside the vehicle, down the center of the vehicle so as to avoid being impaled if by chance we were rear ended.

I was a bit hesitant about buying this ramp for my street bike but after building it today , this is some pretty sturdy stuff. After reading some of the reviews i thought I’d use some thread locker on the bolts I haven’t yet but I’m going to try it without first to see if the reviews were correct or not. We shall see. I would also like to add that build was super easy although I did have one piece that was slightly bent due to delivery and the box being a bit torn tells me it was during delivery not manufactured. Anywho this is a great buy. Also word of advice if your bike is 400lbs don’t buy the max weight and expect it to work at its max.. get the 600lb one.

I'm on a third floor, in an apartment building without an elevator. Kind of a pain to carry up and down the stairs, but it's solid, offers tie down points and accommodates large tires. It's exactly what it needs to be.

easy to assemble, but heavy so be ready! Worked great from my Honda CRF300L (over 300 lbs and tall). Easy on and off. Use the hitch stablizer and proper ratchet straps (I used 6 to be safe) and you will have no issues.

For the money I can't find fault in this carrier. It handles my Grom with ease and the included anti-rattle device is very nice. I wouldn't load it up to the full 600lbs rating, but that's my conservative nature.
