Death Hut for Snails & Slugs
These were quite large to add a good amount of slug bait. The top of the hut pops on and off.I mainly got these bc 1. I have a slug & snail problem 2. I tried adding slug bait in little yogurt containers/tins (no lid) and my dog found them one day SO I immediately research for special containers with a lid. The only issue I have is that the snails in my yard are HUGE. Like their shell is not getting into the open space in between where the roof and the side's are. You can’t raise it any higher without the top popping off easily. This is tough when the bugs crawl up it and knocking the top off and or if my dog came around and gave it a slight nudge of his nose which could move the top off and he would eat the poison. The top also helps with rain water not getting into the poison so the roof is needed for that reason.I just had to put them in fenced out areas, raised areas, just any where that my dog can’t even be next to it.

A good design for getting slugs, but hard to keep together
We had a plague of slugs, and these seemed like a good solution - you dig a hole for the bucket part, and once it's placed, you add bait (we used cheap beer, which is like the nectar of the gods for slugs.) and place the top on.It would be nice if the tops actually snapped onto the buckets in some way - they just rest on the bucket part with little pegs to keep them raised enough to allow slugs to get in. Because they're just perched there, I kept knocking them off while watering the garden, working on plants nearby, or by breathing in the vicinity. It was frustrating.Frustration aside, these WORK. The morning after, there was an impressively disgusting amount of slugs drowned in each. I may use some thermoplastic to add a part that sticks up so I don't have to dig them out of the garden to empty them. It can get messy. All in all, these really do work. Maybe not the most convenient, but quite effective.

Slug trap is a winner
These slug traps are bringing the slugs out for the sugar-beer fest of their lives. Fill half full with a mild beer, add a couple heaping tablespoons of sugar, stir well, place the roof on top, secure the trap in a slug trail and wait for the ecstatic drowning in sugar-beer to begin. Nothing better than to check mornings to find a full house of drowned slugs that have created havoc in one’s garden. If you’ve waited all year for flowers to bloom only to have slugs turn them to pathetic, slimy lace overnight, this trap is for you. Bought two sets for good measure. Using both sets while the slugs attack seedlings, clematis, day lilies, oriental and trumpet lilies. Would absolutely buy again.Update: I’ve added a 24-hour catch photo. These traps are amazing.

Catch those slimy things that are tearing up your garden
My neighbor told me about these. Slugs and snails destroyed my garden and veggies this year. These things work great. Put a little beer inside and they trap dozens of slugs every night

Bad design
I should have waited for the slower delivery of the less expensive alternative with a better design. This one is absurd: it doesn't need to be so deep, dead slugs are not going to crawl out; it shouldn't need to be buried, it needs to be emptied regularly. Going right back to Amazon.

These traps really work
I really love these traps. Slugs are a constant problem in my wet garden. I’ve been trapping them using beer in cat food cans for years, but it’s a nuisance having to empty out the dirt and diluted beer after every shower. The covers on these traps keep the beer undiluted and clean longer, and they look much better than rusty cans. They don’t rust and they are easy to clean. I wish they had a stake to prevent them from getting knocked over so I wouldn’t have to bury them. Slugs readily climb up the sides so burial isn’t necessary.

Best purchase for my garden ever!
Catched already hundreds of slugs - (end of March) - before actually planting time. Small ones mostly, just hatched, looking for food. What makes the traps superior to homemade beer traps is, that rain cannot dilute the beer and catching (drowning) slugs can continue. Additionally they prove to be very successful in a different way: instead of beer I put ammonia soaked cottonballs in and place them where I do not want dogs to go and pee/poop. The smell wears off after a week, so weekly remoistening the cottonballs makes it a powerful dog repellent again. Double happy!

Great in the rain
Beer is the absolute best way to kill slugs in the garden. I have been doing it for a while now. But I live in the Pacific Northwest so it rains a lot. In the past I had problems with that in open containers, and trying to manually cover them didn't work so well due to wind or roaming animals knocking the cover off. So this was an excellent find.

Very effective
These items are very effective. The image shows most of the slugs trapped after setting the traps in position with about 4cm depth of canned beer (one small can of beer shared between the 5 traps) and leaving for two nights. I ensured that traps were set so that the soil almost reached the lip of the base of the traps. Placing the lid on the trap is slightly fiddly but not a real problem. Very few of the slugs were still alive and I suspect they were ones most recently caught and not yet died. Disposing with the dead slugs is slightly squeemish but immensly satisfying when you think of avoiding the damage to plants experienced from slugs previously. I would recommend these traps.

Not the best way to deal with slugs
They do work - I caught a number of slugs in the traps. However, I had no idea these traps can actually attract slugs to your garden - slugs can smell beer a long way off, particularly other gardens. After further research, I found copper tape round pots worked really well, especially if sheep’s wool pellets were put inside the pot. Plants in borders were harder to protect - I used the sheep’s wool pellets round particular problem areas, and cliches over others. Would not recommend these traps.

Trapped slugs
I dug a hole and popped in, works well if there’s a rim above the soil level so water doesn’t pour in. Used the cheapest beer I could find and depending on the weather could catch as many as 10 slugs per night. Have been using for a couple of months now and have had great results. Would definitely recommend.

Does the job
It traps snails!!! The review pictures didn’t show success with snails, just slugs. I’ve easily been trapping at least 20 snails a night. I’ve used both beer and yeast solution. The beer appears to attract more than the yeast solution, but they both work. I’m very happy with my purchase.
