Not super heavy-duty, but excellent stand
I often double instruments in performances and sometimes forget to bring my stands for each. This is an excellent stand for emergencies. It lives in the flute case and works well when needed. It is sturdier than I thought it would be and I don't have to worry about my flute falling over (from the pictures, I wasn't sure it would really hold it up securely). That said, I would not recommend it as your one-and-only stand that you plan on using a lot. In order to be small enough to fit into the foot joint, it is made very thin. I can clearly see that, with extended use (or if used by someone who is hard on equipment), it would probably begin having problems. So, as long as you are looking for an occasional-use stand that you don't have to remember to bring separately, this one is for you. Finally, please be sure to read the instructions. There is a one-star review here from someone who probably had the stand upside-down. This is not an intuitive "pull it out of the box and you can see how it works" kind of stand. Read the directions or watch a video to see how to use it.

Great Little Stand
Got this stand so I'd have somewhere to put my flute during ensemble practice besides on the music stand. It's surprisingly stable for as small as it is. It does indeed fold up small enough to fit inside the footjoint of a flute, and the legs are flocked so they won't scratch. After extending the legs to their full length, you screw down the peg (part w/the yellow top) and the whole thing becomes very steady. Have used it successfully both at home & at ensemble practice with no trouble. Would definitely recommend!Update: after 2 years and countless uses, I finally broke down & got a larger 3-peg Hercules stand to accommodate playing flute & piccolo. My Travlite stand was also showing wear, most particularly in that once the flute was seated on the stand, it would tip to a precarious looking angle. I would like to state though...even though the flute was tilted on the stand, it did NOT fall over. Believe me, it *looked* like somebody sighing would be enough to tip it, but it was still steady. At a Flute Ensemble concert last week, I lent this tilting Travlite stand to an ensemble member who is currently an engineering major as well as a fine flutist, as he was trading off between playing C flute & bass flute, so had no good place to put his flute while playing the bass. He was understandably skeptical when he saw how it tilted, but he actually tested it from several angles, trying to tip the flute over. He was pleasantly surprised at how steady it was, even though it looked scary to see the flute at such an angle. He used it successfully, even with the tilt. This stand was WELL worth the money!

Buying a second one
I bought one these in November of 2016. I like it very much. I use it both at home as well as at rehearsals. It slides right into the foot of your flute and thus will fit in any case. I love it because I am usually toting music, stand, and multiple instruments and not having to juggle my stand too is wonderful. When the flute sits on this stand it is not stiff. It has a little sway to it, but I have never had it tip, fall or threaten my instrument in any way.Setting it up take a little getting used to, especially figuring out which way the threads go, but you figure it out pretty quickly.

perfect for student flute
I'll use this for my student flute; it seems great for taking to lessons or to my friends to show off, or all those things you'd use a student flute for.I don't think it would stand up long against flutes with a sterling silver head joint and/or body -- they weigh much more than student flutes and would bend the legs.note -- the bar that holds up the flute is metal. there is plastic that it rests on at the bottom, but if you are careless when putting your flute on the stand it could contact metal on the inside or on the end of the foot.

Perfect Flute stand
So small, you can stuff in your Flute bag. Sturdy and well built. I now have 4 of these.

Good stand!
This was a gift for my 10 year old son, but I am a music teacher and am impressed with this stand. I have a couple other stands for my trombone and combination clarinet/saxophone stand and they all work great! I’ll be recommending this stand the flute players in my high school band program.

Works
Bought this for my daughter who had a bad habit of laying her flute in a chair or on a bed. Well, she sat on it, finally, so after getting it fixed, I told her she had to use a stand. It fits inside the flute just fine, and is so light that she sometimes forgets it's still in the tail piece until she goes to play it! It is much more stable than it looks. You have to really try to knock it over.

Perfect
I love this stand. Others who have had issues are not assembling it correctly (sounds like one reviewer has it upside down). It's very stable. Just extend the legs, pop them down and turn the center until they are locked in. As a gigging musician, I like to travel light. The fact that this fits in the foot joint is amazing. I have Travlite stands for all my wind instruments. They all fit inside the instrument and are quite stable in use.

軽いけど安定性がない
安定性はそれほどないです。フルートを抜くときにカチンと音がするなも気になります。ただ軽くて持ち運びには便利です。
