In the 1943 Columbia Serial, "Batman", 16-year-old Douglas Croft played Robin for 15 chapters (15 weeks). A few years later, 26-year-old Johnny Duncan played Robin in the 1949 Serial, "Batman and Robin" -- Johnny may have started the tradition of Robin actors (almost) always being adults, in their twenties, when they take on the Robin role. People do disagree about how many Robins there have been. If we look at Robins who have been part of the continuity for awhile, I believe there have been four.
