Each tea bag is individually wrapped to ensure freshness, making it a convenient choice for tea lovers seeking both flavor and health benefits. ## Description Rich, velvety, and decadent. Numi's Chocolate Pu-erh combines a bold, fermented black tea with organic cocoa, sweet orange peel, cinnamon, and nutmeg for a chocolatey cup with a warm, spicy finish — smooth enough to sip slowly, hot or iced. Unlike black tea, which oxidizes for about 8 hours, pu-erh undergoes a unique 60-day fermentation process that develops a deep, earthy, malty base beneath the chocolate and spice. We source this tea from old-growth pu-erh trees in the Yunnan Mountains of China, communally owned by local villages and grown in harmony with the surrounding indigenous forest to support biodiversity and long-term conservation. Our Fair Labor Verification program in Yunnan has helped improve maternity benefits and workplace safety for the workers who grow and process it. Every tea bag is made from manila hemp (Abacá) fiber, sealed with a crimp-and-knot process instead of the plastic heat-seals used in most tea bags, so no polypropylene ever touches your cup. The bags are BPI Certified Biodegradable and supplier-verified free of added plastics or microplastics — not just labeled that way. The outer wrapper is plant-based and commercially compostable, made from FSC-certified paper and non-GMO sugarcane. Certified USDA Organic and Fair Labor Verified. Steep 4–5 minutes in fresh, boiling water, swirling the cup as the cocoa may settle to the bottom. ## Features - Hand-Plucked Fuller Leaf From 500-Year-Old Trees: Sourced from old-growth pu-erh trees in Yunnan, China, communally owned by local villages, for a smooth, complex cup instead of the fast bitterness of machine-picked fannings. - Rich Cocoa, Warm Spice, Real Pu-erh: A velvety black tea blended with organic cocoa, orange peel, cinnamon, and nutmeg for a decadent, chocolatey cup with a spicy finish. - Antioxidant-Rich, Traditionally Fermented*: Pu-erh's fermentation and cocoa's natural flavonoids have been studied for their potential to support heart health*. - High-Caffeine Tea, Hot or Iced: A robust, fully fermented black tea, rich hot or refreshing steeped over ice. - Certified Organic, B Corp, Microplastic-Free: USDA Organic, Fair Labor Verified, and Climate Neutral Certified, with tea bags that are BPI Certified Biodegradable and independently verified free of added microplastics. *These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. Our teabags are compostable and made from Manila hemp cellulose. They are not bleached. They are oxygen-whitened, non-GMO verified and the tag is made from 100% recycled material and soy-based inks. Enjoy! **Q: I'm new to breakfast tea. Does this taste similar to regular black teas (e.g. Newman's Own Royal Tea)?** A: To me the flavor is somewhat more complex and sophisticated than that of an average black tea. It is more mellow and less sharp. I drink it every morning and like it very much. **Q: Does this collection box has different flavors in it?** A: Cannot notice any! **Q: The title said full leaf, so is the tea ground or more like a loose leaf tea?** A: It's in a bag, but it looks like it's ground. Not super ground into tiny bits like most teas, but not full leaves either in my opinion. ## Frequently Bought Together - Numi Organic Chocolate Pu-erh Tea, 100 Tea Bags, Aged Yunnan Pu-erh Black Tea with Cocoa & Sweet Orange Peel, Caffeinated - FGO Organic Oolong Tea, 100 Count, Eco-Conscious Tea Bags, Caffeine Free, Packaging May Vary (Pack of 1) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/7426328-numi-organic-chocolate-pu-erh-tea-100-dark-tea-bags](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/7426328-numi-organic-chocolate-pu-erh-tea-100-dark-tea-bags) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
