These are great to take in my lunch on work days or for a quick meal for 2 by adding minute rice + a pack + Naan bread. They're not as hot/spicy as I'd like but I understand that they're mild to appeal to most people and they are still very flavorful.

I can't say enough how much I really love Maya Kaimal's Everyday Dal! All the flavors are excellent and the ingredients are really top notch--nothing that's not real organic food! I feel so healthy and satisfied every time I eat this and it really is so delicious. I had tried these for the first time when they were on sale at my local supermarket and I just had to get more! I wouldn't complain if they were a little cheaper, but for the quality of the product, I'm willing to pay this much. As some reviewers mentioned, the consistency of the food varies from pouch to pouch--sometimes they're thinner or thicker--but I really don't think it affects the flavor and I still enjoy it. I think it just goes to show how natural the food is and the packets really give some good explanation about the product. They don't offer this as a cooking suggestion on the packet, but I just empty the contents onto a small frying pan and heat it up that way--I find that's the easiest way for me and it works great. I can easily eat one whole packet in one meal if I'm not eating much else as part of the meal, but unless you're not a big eater, you probably need to eat something else with it to feel full. There are 5 different flavors and the variety pack includes one of each plus an extra "Red Lentil, Butternut Squash, & Coconut", which is one of my favorite ones (you don't really taste the coconut if that's a flavor you don't like). My only complaint about this product is that it comes with so much packaging!! I'm not sure if this is actually something within the company's control or just an Amazon thing, but it's so wasteful and it makes me feel less good about this awesome product! I mean, the first time it got delivered, I felt like they were in a bunch of Russian nesting doll boxes because there was just box after box! The second time, it came in an unnecessarily huge box, which had another box in it containing the food. Very wasteful, in my opinion. All in all, I 100% recommend this product and think more stores should carry this!

Maya Kaimal products are tasty. I use them to mix with leftovers to make soup. The only downside is the price - about $5 for 10 oz - makes two small portions. The company used to make a very good butternut squash soup, but has stopped all production.

This organic meal is simple to make, flavorful, and hearty; it heats up fast, and has a satisfyingly thick texture. The portion size works well for one meal or provides enough for leftovers. Shipped fast and is reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Delicious! I have food allergies and have a hard time finding processed food that I can eat, because I am also picky about my ingredients. This is gluten and dairy free. It is one of my new favorite lunches

Absolutely delicious. We grilled some chicken and added this as the side. Paired they are fabulous! I'll definitely buy again. No shopping at the store, easy to prepare in minutes, and widens our variety of choices with what to prepare!

Excellent, healthy and hearty food that fulfills the requirements for my dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten free.) I got these, paired with somos cilantro lime rice pouches, for my homemade MREs for camping/hiking and emergency use and they performed very well. I had them in storage for over a year and they were still good with no signs of going bad or any rancidity, surprisingly shelf stable. They are tasty enough to not need more seasonings from the user and the portion sizes are quite acceptable for people eating 3 meals a day, provided they are paired with a carb like rice. I would love if this company branched out to other cuisines like Italian, mexican etc and also branched out to things like rice or mashed potato pouches as well.
