Stainless Steel Mixer Bowl, 5 QT, Compatible with KitchenAid Tilt-Head Stand Mixers

My wife absolutely loves her KitchenAid stand mixer! She’s become the “family cake baker”. But usually if she’s making a cake, she has to mix the cake, batter and frosting, sometimes several colors of frosting, so she asked me to look for these silicone bowl liners, so she wouldn’t have to keep washing and drying her one bowl. While I was searching for them, I came across this bowl and was pretty impressed with the price! It was actually cheaper than some of the liners.I ordered it for her and it arrived the next day. The first thing I did when it arrived was to check and make sure it fit her mixer. It fit perfectly! Just as well as the one that came with the mixer. This one seems to weigh a little less, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing at all. Quality seems decent and it works great. She’s already used it twice.

During the holidays I thought how nice it would be to have an extra bowl for my mixer, because I kept having to wash my bowl between various steps in recipes. However, I wasn’t willing to pay what Kitchen Aid wants for one of their bowls. I never dreamed that I could find a bowl as nice as my original bowl for this price!!! This bowl fits my 5 quart Kitchen Aid Artisan perfectly! It locks in place flawlessly, and it stays in place the whole time the mixer is in use. The look and the weight of the bowl seem identical to my original bowl. (When I placed this bowl next to my original bowl I did find that this bowl is about 2mm shorter than the original.). For better or worse, this bowl even has the same nasty protective coating inside of it that the original had; scrub, scrub, scrub the inside before using it, or your food will have a grey tint to it. (I used liquid Barkeeper’s Friend on a wet sponge to remove the coating without damaging the stainless steel.). I’m over the moon happy with this bowl, and I’d definitely recommend it to others.

I really like having a bowl with a handle for my older KitchenAid, however, it didn't stay firmly in place on speed 3 or 4 when making bread. I still really like it, just have to watch out and not get distracted.

Works perfectly with the dough hook. Just a tad higher than the original bowl. Only issue is saran wrap does not cling to it like the original bowl. I'm assuming lesser quality metal.

I should’ve bought this mixer years ago. I am having a blast baking now! It comes with one bowl. I actually wanted an extra one. You don’t have to spend a fortune buying the KitchenAid brand extra bowl you can get one on Amazon that is an expensive and looks exactly like the one that comes with the mixer. I bought one and tried it. It works perfectly.
