Great Little Protein Skimmer
I have this skimmer in my Biocube 32 and it works 10 times better than the Tunze I had in the middle section previously. I run and an In-Tank mod also in the middle chamber with filter floss and media, but the skimmer easily fits next to that. It is easy to dial in skimmer and within 24 hours it was pulling out brownish gunk. You have to lower the water level in middle chamber to about 1/2 way down for it to work well, which also allows you to CLOSE THE HOOD! I placed the magnet to hold it in place on the divider between middle chamber and return pump chamber. Definitely worth the money.

Complete Junk out of the box!
Great way to kill a brand Ice Cap. Product arrived without any instructions. Motor does not properly fit to the bottom of the skimmer and falls out constantly. Must be modified or glued in to work. The hoses are the same size as the barb on the motor. Again, had to be modified out of the box to get it to work. The mounting bracket DOES NOT FIT INNOVATIVE MARINE AIO TANKS, unless you leave the screw out that suspends the skimmer. After all this, plugged it in and I cannot believe how loud it is. Certainly a combination of crappy mounting, and a non-fitting motor, and overall design. Super janky. This thing is going back in the box. Buyer be warned.

Little beast
This skimmer is a great value for what it is priced, break in period was about 2 hours. It is adjustable with the intake valve located next to skimmer cup. Currently using this on a IM 20G dropoff (The original ones) It is a very tight fit - unable to use supplied magnet with this, but again due to it being a tight fit it just holds itself in place! Owned for about a month - No issues, micro bubbles for about 2 hours, upgraded from an eshopps nano skimmer, this k1-nano is quiet and pulls lots of waste.

Update: Great skimmer.
Update: After a little more than a week of use I have upgraded the review to 5 starts. The skimmer is very quiet now, and producing dark skimmate. I am very happy how it is performing. Below is my first review. The skimmer looks of very good craftsmanship, however, the one I got is loud. I know every skimmer is different and while some may break in in one or two days, others may take weeks. It is producing a good amount of micro bubbles and none scaping the body of the skimmer. I’ll wait at least a week and see if it quiets down, if it doesn’t, I may return it and go back to my DIY air driven protein skimmer. I have it on a IM Nuvo 20.

Good skimmer for tight space
Overall, seems like good quality, easy setup, compact (with some adjusting of the mount and lines, fit in the back of my all-in-one’s rear sump) and after only 12 hours or so, it’s already pulling brown gunk (skimate) from the water. Set up per the instructions on Y-Tube (it actually came with no written instructions). Probably undersized for my setup but I was very limited in space so this was pretty much the biggest I could get. First impression is that it’s definitely working with the initial settings (per instructions), and it’s a little noisier than I’d like. From my experience with pumps though, they do break in and should quiet down with time. As far as value, seems a little overpriced, but then again I haven’t had much hands on experience with skimmers. Will update as needed.

This thing is great
I received the k1 yesterday and hooked it up in my fluval 13.5 (It does fit in the middle chamber sideways but you cant use the mounting bracket but its in there snug). this is skimmer #3 i have tried on my nano tank and wow what a difference. 5 min into turning it on i was getting good skim so i cant wait to see how well it works once its broken in. As for the sound which was a big worry form some other reviews i read. let me start by saying i have never owned a silent skimmer EVER and i have had about 7 being in this hobby. That being said its relatively quiet. If you are the only one in the room and there is nothing on but the tank you can hear it but to be honest i expected that. but its one of the quietest skimmers i have ever owned that has actually worked. i have owned some really quiet skimmer....... but they don't do much of anything. This thing is super easy to adjust and put together. the only other thing i noticed was some micro bubbles. I was bad when i first started it but by this morning there were barely any but this to be expected as it has not broken in yet. Ill give an update in a few weeks. but over all i LOVE this thing.

Ice Cap K1 Nano
This is the third one I have purchased. Loved the previous 2. This one is must be from a different batch/manufacturer. The pump is loose and fell off twice in first 30 min. The air intake is very loose and falls off if you look at it wrong. Also very load, but that may because it is new. One positive is that the air intake has been changed and seems to provide more bubbles in chamber.

Pump is 100% used
Definitely a used skimmer does not have original air intake skim cup oring is very loose but the skimmer seems to work. I would return but need to get a skimmer going so I am going to source my own o ring and make it work. I highly recommend purchasing elsewhere

I thought I would use it for a month before I wrote a review. Out of all my skimmers this was the by far the most simple to setup and get working, it pulled a huge amount of black skim out the first night I set it up. I paid around 140$ and it was well worth that price.
