STARTED ON FIRE IN MY CEILING!! Before I was even putting the Sheetrock up I heard a pop. I looked up and it was smoking and I could see fire inside the box. It didn’t trip a breaker or anything, just started burning until I turned the light switch off. Luckily, even though they are rated for insulation contact, I left a pocket in the insulation so no part of the light or box was touching it. I’m taking them all down and they are going in the trash.

I was really exicited for these lights but mutiple lights in the package were damaged and a few of the lights were missing the retainer clips. I dont recommend purchase due to the damaged light and missing parts.

This is a great bargain for easy to install, dependable lights. I needed to replace a bunch of failed 4' long tube lights in my basement shop. These round fixtures have made a big improvement in brightness and were so easy to install. In the package you get 12 boxes - 6 boxes with 4 round downlights per box and 4 boxes with 6 junction boxes each. My one beef is with the packaging. I much prefer when the lights and junction boxes are boxed together - minor point. I installed the lights in an unfinished basement ceiling consisting of 2X wood joists. I added two wood strips between the joists where I wanted a light and attached the junction box to the side of a nearby joist. It seems most manufacturers of these round LED lights make the wired connections compatible between the light and the junction box. They are either flat on one side of the connector or they have a keyway which just happens to be the same depth as the flat sided connectors. This makes the two types of connectors interchangeable which is nice. These lights have a toggle to let you select a temperature of output between 2700-5000 Kelvin. They are also dimmable although I didn't connect them to a dimmer. They ship with 4-hole push-on wire connectors which I really prefer over wire nuts - very quick to connect. These lights also include a foam baffle at the perimeter which will help keep them in place in a gyp. board ceiling and eliminate any light bleeding at the perimeter. Unlike incandescent downlights these LED's are cool to the touch even after being on for hours. There is no need to keep insulation away from them.
