Jicoreplacement Shure N44-7 CLUB stylus

I've been using Jico products for years and this one is no different than what I have come to expect. Comparing the original and this one directly, I would say that this tracks a bit better, shows less surface noise on imperfect lps and exhibits a slightly more detailed top ans bottom end, especially at the roll offs . The low end is presence is definitely still there. Just remember to set the recommended tracking force before using.This is likely the best replacement for the m44-7 and in some cases better than the original.

When the M44 needles went out I started trying alternatives and came across these (why did you discontinue Shure?! they disappeared just like the 1200s disappeared: too good for planned obsolescence---hopefully Shure will come back like the 1200s did).Anyways, have bought a few alternatives. I used to DJ with the Shures and they lasted longer than these ones have lasted now that I don't DJ. So...that's a major downfall. My last one of these needles kicked the bucket when I inadvertently knocked the head (admittedly bad, but not out of the ordinary for being out DJing and having someone bump into the turntables).So...they do the trick, but they're not very sturdy. Good for home use. I wouldn't rely on them for being out and about. And for the home, they should last longer.

So far so good i will order another one worked with traktor no problems. It will be interesting to see how they hold up over time but they sound good and scratch good

Wow! What a godsend these stylii are. For those of us with the fortune of owning the Shure M447 cartridge, which is now discountinued, this stylus is a life saver. It is every bit as good as the original Shure N447 stylus that goes with the M447. It tracks like a freight train still and is loud and sounds great. The bass is absolutely amazing. If you're a hip hop or house music DJ, this thing will shine through for you. I'm so grateful that JICO is making these stylii I don't know what to do! One thing to note is that this version you buy off here doesn't have the needle guard like the official Shure stylii do. If you buy the newer version of this stylii directly from JICOs site, you can get one with the guard. However it's a lot more expensive than buying it here on Amazon. For my money, I don't really need the guard as I keep my dust cover on the turntables when not in use. These sound great with standard vinyl or with DVS control vinyl as well. I can't give it high enough stars! If you have the M447 cart, get this today and keep the legend of the Shure M447 alive!!

I received the cartridge and immediately placed it on my "1" with a for-real Shure M44-7 cartridge on "2". There was a noticeable sound difference between the two cartridges. The JICO replacement sounded ok, not bad, but it didn't have the loudness or bass of the legit Shure cartridge. In a world where you can't buy a Shure cartridge any longer, I guess this one will have to do, but it's a sad world.

Just as good as the original.
