Review: Tiny Tank - I don't normally leave reviews and I never come back more than 2 yrs later to leave a review. But here I am! This little power bank and I have been through plenty together in the couple years I've had it and it's always been more than reliable. But today takes the cake! The boring but important stuff: it'll charge my phone fully 3 or 4 times with a little extra for the speaker, etc. The solar panel takes forever to charge but it's the size of a cell phone so that's to be expected. The unexpected and downright exciting: This thing is a physical tank! Of course I don't intentionally drop it but accidents happen. And today this baby made it 10 miles on the roof of my car, bounced across the highway at 50mph, and is still working!!! Honestly I can't believe I didn't loose it on a corner before the highway but the rubber grips must have held it in place. I've included pictures because holy heck am I impressed by the lack of damage and few scuff marks. If I would have thought of it I would have taken roadside pics because hot damn electronics never work after you've tossed them out a car window let alone them bouncing across an entire lane!!! Not only would I definitely buy this little tank again but come Christmas I'll be handing them out for those hard to buy for folks. Way to go Blavor. Finally an electronic that lasts!!!
Review: Perfect for what it is, small, wireless charging, and reasonable price. - There are a lot of reviews saying solar panel doesn't work, can only charge phone a couple of times ect... It's all about reading the specks and math. Solar charging: This device is small. It's length and width is smaller than my galaxy s22 and only slightly thicker. I can easily carry it in my pocket. Putting an led in line between the Solar panel and the battery to indicate current flow is a very basic circuit. If the led that indicates the Solar panel is charging is on, there is current flowing to the battery and it is charging. There are excellent explanations in the question section which do a great job of explaining the math and why it would take probably over a week to fully charge this device. One review I read said the device would not fully charge with Solar. I "capped off" my phone from about 50% battery to 85% which used about one "bar" or one of the indicator let's. I then put it outside in the South Florida sun, in direct sunlight to see if I could fully charge it with the Solar panel. It took 3 days. It finally got back to a full charge. Am I disappointed, NO, that's about what I would expect. If you wanted to fully charge your phone, then recharge using Solar, the Solar panel would have to produce the same watage over a few hours that you used to charge your phone. You can do this with one of the folding Solar panels desertcart sells. These panels are huge in comparison to the tiny panel on this unit. It's all math and physics. Hurricane Andrew back in the day, we were without power for a little over a week. Thus device would have charged my phone once or twice, then it would probably take a week to recharge. Not what this device was designed for. "I can only charge my phone a couple of times before recharging" Thus battery is small and easy to carry. If you are comparing power banks using the same technology, same type of battery, more capacity equals larger battery. Again math and physics. If the battery bank is about the same size as your phone, you are only going to get around 2 or 3 full charges with it. A power bank is basically all battery, so if the device is about the size of your phone the battery size inside is probably 2 or 3 times larger than the one in your phone. Thus expect 2 or 3 charges. Again math and physics. In an emergency situation, I would use this as a Solar flashlight. I have a larger power bank that is about the size of a lunchbox with a large folding Solar panel to charge it. Under perfect conditions I can recharge that device in about a day to day and a half. I recommend this device as long as you understand it's limitations. Remember it can fit in your pocket, It has wireless charging, and is inexpensive. BTW, the compass is just a novelty. If you are putting yourself in a situation where you need a compass for navigation, carry a real compass.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this unit be charged with a usb as well or just solar energy?**
A: Depends on what you mean by "charge via solar." The solar cell's maximum (absolute maximum, 100% efficiency and unobstructed engagement) charge rare is 180 mA/hr. At 10,000 mA, you're talking 55 hours, 38 minutes of direct, high intensity, unobstructed and optimized light. Considering the average North American summer day produced 7.5 hours like this, with a total of 15.5 hours of any light...you're talking 2 to 3 weeks to charge the piece of crap.

**Q: How long does it take to be fully charged by sunlight?**
A: The quoted 180mA/hr is way too low to be useful. There is another model that is barely more expensive and since it has more solar cell surface area, they say it charges from sunlight at 6A/hr (which is 6000mA/hr):

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09L198HC2/

That's 33 times faster. Even if you think you would never need to charge it via sunlight, I'd go with the one that is 33X faster just in case of an emergency. Then at least you would have the option.

As people have pointed out, you won't get the maximum charging rate out of any solar cell unless it is in intense, direct sunlight, with the light hitting the panel at 90 degrees. Usually that will not be the case. So let's say you are getting 50% of the maximum rate. That's 90mA/hr from this model, and 3A/hr (equal to 3000mA/hr) from the other model. The other model is still 33 times faster, and always will be, assuming they are both in the same lighting conditions.

**Q: Have yet to see any solar battery pack this size actually charge to full in bright sunlight. Can owners confirm it charges to full and how long?**
A: I have never let my power pack discharge to empty. My power pack has had 3 lights lit and it took 2 weeks before the 4th light became solid. The power pack is advertised as the solar panel is only meant to charge the power pack in an emergency.

**Q: Does the solar panel actually work or just for decoration? How do I know if it's charging the internal battery?**
A: There are 5 little blue lights to show it's charging. I'm hoping the solar will be a plus. I'm not sure how long it will take to charge the device in the window. Our days are getting shorter. It's in the window now. It was charged when I got it. It worked great. Charged my galaxy s9 plus in an Otterbox, I hope this helps.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Didn’t use the solar charging
*by M***R on September 28, 2026*

Definitely strong holds a lot of charge and can charge ur phone quickly. I thought the solar charging would be a nice feature as I was on a hiking trip, however I never really needed to “recharge via sunshine” I always just plugged it in so it was full before we left. The flashlight feature is great really bright and shines a good distance. Has multiple connectivity u can use c plug usb so as long as ur cable isn’t a cheapy from a gas station should draw the power into ur phone quickly. Weight was good considering the bulk of it. Very sturdy.
