Nina Campbell Interior Decoration: Carefree Elegance

I sent for this book after trawling through tons of reviews to try and find a book which might be useful for creating your own decorative schemes. Sadly, although this is a beautiful book, it again is not really any practical help, and so having to be returned, yet again. I suppose you can gleam a certain amount from the pictures, but there is so little text, any decor tips or design aids have are infered not drawn out. I suppose the people who own these houses are rich enough to be able to afford an interior designer in the first place; how naive I was! Anyone know of a really good and useful book to aid you in decorating a house yourself? Also, it would be great if it were written by a real, trained interior designer, rather than a self styled blogger or stylist.

I thought I should update my "a bit disappointing" review. I looked at this book again and thought perhaps I had been a bit hard on it. I think it is because my personal tastes have changed. There was a time when I probably would have been more generous. It is a well produced book and some of the interiors further on in the book have more personal items in display, so less like hotels. Nina Campbell's own house interiors tracked over time are rather interesting too look at as well.....Chintz overkill in the 80"s! So if you do like very smart and expensive interiors (whether or not you can afford them or just like looking) then this is a nice book. It is certainly not a book for those who like rural or homely interiors. I hope that helps and sorry if was I bit hard on it before!

It's a very great book about the latest work of Nina Campbell. Highly recommended for whom is in the interior design industry as an inspiring reference.

Beautiful and evocative. Yes the text could have been more detailed or elaborate but I do like how it is conveyed. It's fresh. Reasonably pricedCampbell is timeless!
