Maybelline Super Stay Lumi-Matte Foundation, Lightweight and Buildable Full Coverage Foundation Makeup For Up To 30HR Wear, 110, 1 Count

This is the foundation that ended my search. Genuinely. Prepare for the yap I am about to serve. I was looking for a new lightweight natural-finish foundation for the longest, having only used the Armani Luminous Silk for the past 2 years and the Estee Lauder Double Wear (Original Formula) before that. What I find is that no matter how much I try to thin those out for a more natural look, they always ended up feeling slightly heavy and powdery, which gives it that cakey look. I am in my early 20s and have dry and textured skin, especially during the winter. I get dry patches on my cheeks and a bit oily on my nose sometimes. I've tried everything, using a hydrating primer, moisturizer, setting spray, etc, but it never gave me the finish that I wanted. So during the Sephora Sale this year, I got a few new options to try, including the DIOR Backstage Face & Body Foundation which I was told was more runny and thin if I wanted the lightweight feel. I compared that against the Lumi Matte a couple of times using a both a sponge and a brush and dare I say, the Lumi Matte ends up being my favourite side both at the start and end of the day. I don't know how to describe it but it is genuinely so lightweight, it feels just like a skin-tint but with a lot more coverage. I bought both the 110 and 112 to mix since I am a light-neutral skin tone and I find that the half and half ratio is perfect. I apply in thin layers using a flat brush and it covered all my acne scars and discoloration. The texture and formula feels really similar to the DIOR Backstage and the coverage and dry down is comparable to that of the Estee Lauder Double Wear. Its mostly matte but still has the inner luminosity and glow that peeks through. If you want a super dewy look, maybe this is not the one for you. But if you want something natural looking and light weight that gives a seamless coverage without emphasizing texture and scarring, then your search ends here. This is it. The cBeauty girls really cooked with this recommendation because this foundation is super popular in Asia. The moment I tried it, I knew the formula was goated, I just needed to mix and find my shade. But hopefully you can find yours without having to mix it. I recommend using a hydrating moisturizer or sunscreen underneath this, and applying it thin layers one section at a time since it sets pretty fast. Anyway, I hope this was helpful!

Finally, the perfect daily foundation for my skin. I'm 55, with combination, cool toned skin. I wanted something light to medium coverage that lasted all day and didn't feel heavy. I used Revlon color stay for years, but it felt like a mask after several hours. The texture is perfect with this formula! It blends very well, doesn't settle into fine lines, and it isn't drying. Also, I love that it's luminous but not too shiny. It looks like my skin (but better) and feels natural. I recommend.

My go-to foundation. As a person with dark skin, I find this product perfectly matches my shade. It stays in place and effectively covers the scars from ingrown hairs caused by hirsutism due to PCOS. It works so well that I'm reluctant to wash it off at the end of the day because it still looks fantastic even after a full workday, especially if I use the setting spray from the brand. I've tried other foundations, even a few expensive ones sold at Sephora, but I always return to this one. Great product!

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have mature skin. That is, I never took care of it, tanned way too much, etc. In the last couple of years, I've noticed my pores are appearing larger. I have been trying multiple foundations that are advertised as for "mature skin" or "color-matching", only to be disappointed. I saw this Maybelline Super Stay Lumi-Matte Foundation reviewed on quite a few websites and I figured, what do I have to lose? Other foundations that I have tried just did not look right because of color or, worse yet, settling into wrinkles. I am so happy that I gave this foundation a try. I have slightly olive-toned skin and did not want a "pinkish" tone so I chose the #129 - Neutral Cool color. It was a perfect match!!! It seemed to go on light but then develops to a more natural (and not pink) tint. As I said, I have "mature skin" and have developed deep smile lines and moderate crows feet. This foundation, paired with Maybelline Super Stay Liquid Concealer (SS Concealer #30) and Rimmel London Stay Matte - 003 - Primer has made a huge difference with those smile lines and the crows feet are now barely visible. I put a dab or two onto a makeup disk and then apply the foundation with a brush and it goes on smoothly. The liquid is not too thick & not too thin. But, the thing that I am most happy with is that it is a perfect match for my skin color. As I said, the color/tint appears light when you first apply it so, don't keep applying more. It'll change. You can build on it, though. I have not needed to. It seems to last about 10-12 hours without needing any correction. With it's matte finish, it does not look like I have foundation plastered over my entire face. It evens out my ruddy skin to a perfect finish and tone. The only thing that I do not like is the bottle's cap. It feels pretty fragile to me. I truly wish I that I had found this earlier. I am so happy with the color match and the final matte appearance.
