12 volt from the battery. the wire that connects to the battery is pretty short. i had to add a piece of wire.

Does the fish finder come qith wires ready to hook up to your battery or jave to buy them separate?

Yes, but wires may not be long enough to reach battery. Plenty long enough to reach my fuse block under console
