Can anyone comment on the longevity of the item now that you've used it for a while?

It's so-so. There's a black plastic square shaped "button" on one side near the end that you can press to release the deburring bits, but the mechanism isn't strong so you have to be careful not to pull the bit out when using it. The design could be better, but it works as a cheap deburring tool. Plus you get quite a few replacement bits.

Is that meant for left handed users? I'm having a hard time.

this is to be use in the right hand...if you use it in the left hand you need to go the opposite way to have it work.
