Cocoweb 19" Grand Piano Lamp - Adjustable, Black with Brass Accents, LED Clip-on with Dimmer - GPLED19D

Bought this fixture to replace an old fluorescent one which was not really doing the job on the church piano. The Cocoweb unit is much brighter and the included dimmer control allows you to adjust the amount of light to whatever level you desire. The fixture has a clean, stylish look which complements the baby grand piano, yet it's slim size almost makes it seem to disappear when turned off. The only thing I didn't like was the foam tape provided to secure the dimmer in place. Totally unsuitable by my standards. Instead, I machined a block of aluminum to hold the dimmer and attached it to the rear of the clamping bracket (see pics #1-3). This provided a centered mounting and still allowed easy adjustment of the dimmer when necessary. Be aware that there is an error in the description about the thickness range of the music rest which can be accommodated by the clamp of this fixture. It is capable of attaching on 3/8" up to 9/16", but not any thicker, unless you remove the padded pressure plate from inside the clamp. I don't recommend doing that, because the thumbscrews could mar the rear of the music rest when they are tightened, without the padded plate in place. All in all, it's a great light fixture, although I think it's priced a bit higher than necessary. However, I was unable to find anything else that was comparable at a lower cost, so the choice was pretty simple.

After researching different options for months I decided to purchase this lamp for my new Kawai digital piano. At first I was worried it wouldn’t fit well on a digital piano but saw that a few other reviewers had used it on comparable models. The color options available can match just about any finish. The dimmer is such a nice feature and I was quite surprised at how good it was for being on an LED lamp. This lamp deserves the 5 stars in my book. That being said I do feel like the price is a bit steep, but the quality is definitely superior. Nothing about it feels cheap. I was lucky enough to be able to get this lamp while a deal was going which made the purchase a bit easier to justify. In the end I think it’s still worth the cost!

This beautiful, unobtrusive 19" piano lamp is exactly what I was looking for. The light is very bright but does not glare, and it evenly illuminates an entire 3-page spread of sheet music. The mounting clamp is entirely padded on the inside (front, back, and top) to protect the music stand. The two screws on the back to tighten the clamp are plastic to reduce the risk of damaging the music stand (and are on the outside of the padding, so they shouldn't touch the finish anyway). I have a solid music stand on my piano, so the mounting is very secure. The cord is thin and black, with the transformer on the plug itself. The on/off switch is a metal toggle and is on the lampshade. The whole unit is very well-made and solid. It looks very attractive on the piano, but doesn't really draw attention to itself either. The only part of the lamp that moves is the shade itself, it can be rotated through 90 degrees and also pivoted at the center. There is no height adjustment and the neck of the lamp is not flexible. But it's already in the right configuration for optimal use with standard-size music books. My music stand is about 10 1/2 in. tall in the center, so the bottom of the lamp shade is about 13 1/2 in. above the ledge of the music desk. I am very happy with this product and I hope that it lasts a long time.

I first tried an all-brass grand piano lamp that was ove $400, and the lighting was weak and inadequate, and the unit was ridiculously large for my grand piano. This one slides over the lyre and the led level is adjustable and adequate. It's unobtrusive and good-looking. That said, it could be improved by having the dimmer attached to the fixture instead of just hanging on the low voltage lead (mine ends up resting on the piano plate, neither convenient nor practical; adjusting the lamp's height required me to use pliers to tighten the tiny knurled screws so that there would be no slippage; that should be an easy manufacturer fix. But I am satisfied overall given the results and the price point. And 19" was the proper size for my solo practice.

I have been buying different kinds of piano lamps over the years. Before I have this one, each time when my kids play piano I turned on 3 sets of lights and still felt the music sheets were not bright enough for them to read. This LED lamp is so bright and designed so right for piano: all lights focus on the music sheets and the keyboards and doesn't bother your eyes at all! I wish I had found this earlier. It's not cheap but it is really worth it. This model is actually for grand piano, I didn't understand the difference until I received the next day put in my order. It has a clip to bind on the grand piano but I have upright piano. I wrote an email to customer service, they replied me the next day and told me that they happened to have a $30 more expensive one for the upright piano, it was returned by a customer ordered by mistake and they were willing to exchange with me with no charge. They patiently worked with me for a week and I finally made the trip and got the lamp back. We can't love it more. Wonderful design and product. Great customer service.

This lights up my music perfectly, the light is a soft color, easy on the eyes, and with the dimmer I can adjust it exactly how I want. My music stand is fairly flimsy (I was concerned the light might be too heavy for it), but with a bit of special adjusting, the light stays in the perfect position. Very happy with my purchase. The dimmer switch does hang down the back in an awkward position, as others have noted, but that is a minor issue that can easily be dealt with one way or another.

The light is well made, easy to assemble, easy to attach to the piano’s music stand and has a nice long cord. It is bright enough to see your music clearly in an otherwise dark room. The light bar adjusts smoothly so you can have it exactly where you want the light to shine (on the music and not in your eyes). The dimmer switch uses a real potentiometer and is self contained with its own input and output. I don’t plan to use it but it is a nice option to have and I appreciate that I don’t have to have it attached at all. The whole thing is unobtrusive and well designed. There is no way that it will mar your piano either.

I just received my lamp a few days ago. It was easy to install and a perfect fit on the music rack of my Yamaha Arius YDP-144. I didn't need to re-shape (bend) the bracket. It fit right on. The light itself is great. When I first looked at it I thought there would be a problem with adjusting the head to the right angle so it would illuminate the entire sheet and not just the bottom half. It turned out that it has a good range of motion and I have no problem lighting the entire sheet. The light is easy on the eyes and the dimmer gives me a nice range from a very soft light to extremely bright. The light produced is very similar to natural sunlight. A little pricey for what it is but overall it seems like a really good product.

Die Lampe sieht sehr gut aus, ist gut verarbeitet und funktioniert einwandfrei. Die Lampe kann in der Höhe verstellt werden, sitzt gut auf dem Notenpult. Ein Dimmer-Teil liegt auch bei, das man bei Bedarf einschleifen kann. Es gibt ein paar kleine Details, die schöner sein könnten (z.B. der billig wirkende Einschalthebel oder die außen aufgesetzten Schrauben), wir haben in Deutschland aber keine andere Flügellampe gefunden, die so minimalistisch-elegant ist. Die Lampe kommt allerdings aus USA, wir mussten noch ca. 50 Euro Zoll / Steuern zahlen, die wir aber prompt von Cocoweb zurückerhalten haben. Außerdem muss man sich noch einen Adapter von US-Flachstecker auf EU-Norm zulegen (kostet 1 Euro vom Amazon-Chinesen), die Lampe kann aber auch direkt über ein Gleichstrom-Netzteil betrieben werden. Der Kontakt zum Kundenservice wird prompt und sehr zuvorkommend beantwortet. Ich würde die Lampe jederzeit für Flügel empfehlen.
