works great
so far, so good. the older reviews made me hesitate, but it seems as if the manufacturer rectified the issue with the thermostat. on that note: the thermostat is very accurate (calibrated next to an alcohol thermometer), and operates over a very wide range for those who want to use it for refrigeration or freezing. the probe can operate underwater or in soil, as well as in air...a plus for those who want to heat aquariums or seedlings, etc. the heater has a heavy coil, which means that when it switches on, it takes a minute or two to start feeling heat, and it doesn't glow red hot and provide an instant heat blast like some space heaters do. it also takes a minute to cool off when it shuts off. but all this is good news for maintaining a consistent temperature point in a small room, especially where there are plants. the greenhouse i am using it in is 70-80sqft/7' in height. this heater seems perfectly adequate for that application. everything looks very well made, with good ABS plastic, stainless steel, etc... i may be wrong, but it appears as if the fan runs continuously as long as the machine is set in "heat" mode, whether the heating element is engaged or not. i need to verify this. however, with the included external thermostat, this is a non-issue, as power to the unit is completely shut off when "told to" by the thermostat, shutting off the fan.... although i just received it, at this juncture i feel like i am going to be very satisfied with this purchase. will update as needed.

Fourth Winter
Going into my fourth winter with this heater. It is still going strong. Never had a problem. Initially was concerned about heat distribution. After I added a small oscillating fan for pollination that concern went away. I have a 8x10 polycarbonate greenhouse and live in Kentucky. It along with the fan and grow lights add about $20 per month to my electric bill.

3 units . Not worth the trouble
This was our 3rd replacement. The unit has a two year warranty, which is great . Our first unit we purchased 8 months ago. The unit came damaged and dented on the side . No worries, Amazon customer support replaced the unit right away . Second unit worked great for about two months. We really liked the thermostat setting and being able to have the unit turn on when needed. All of a sudden the heater stopped working and the unit was only blowing cold air. We called about the warranty. Was told to call the manufacturer with the phone number provided. The number goes to dead space and the manufacturer is MIA. Filled out paperwork to not receive a response. We called Amazon back and after fighting for my warranty, another replacement was sent. This final 3rd replacement was received and this unit is tripping our GFI breaker and blowing cold air. We have had a substitute unit keeping our greenhouse warm while waiting for this replacement with no GFI tripping or breaker issues. This new unit was plugged in and again, only blowing cold air and tripping our breaker. I’m done . Will look for another greenhouse heater. Not worth the hassle . It’s a shame cause when it was working , it was a great unit .

Stay Warm, Grow Strong
With the arrival of the cold season, especially in colder states like Illinois, maintaining the temperature in a greenhouse becomes a fundamental task to ensure plant survival. Winters are quite chilly here. And at night it could be a significant drop in temperature. Essentially, I needed a heater with a thermostat to control the greenhouse temperature, preventing frost and plant stress. The heater is equipped with a thermostat that allows you to set and maintain the required temperature. Its compact dimensions (11 x 8 x 13 inches) make it suitable even for small greenhouses. It includes a fan for heat distribution. While some users have raised concerns about the build quality, I find these less worrisome for two reasons: firstly, Amazon offers a return guarantee, and secondly, the manufacturer provides a two-year warranty. It may not be perfect, but it’s reassuring nonetheless. Setting up and configuring the device is straightforward. It effectively maintains the desired temperature even during severe frosts. For instance, in a greenhouse with thin plastic walls, the device kept the temperature at 42°F while it was -10°F outside. The thermostat setup isn’t the most intuitive, so it’s essential to keep the instructions handy. Although I’m not particularly fond of it, the thermostat rarely signals overheating, which helps prevent plant damage, though manual shutdown is required. The noise level is minimal, but the cord length might be insufficient for larger greenhouses, where multiple heaters may be necessary. For my small greenhouse, this heater is an excellent solution. I haven’t had the chance to test it in extreme conditions yet, but I believe it will withstand even the lowest temperatures in my region.

Cord issue
I ordered this heater for my 11x7 greenhouse. I set up the thermostat, plugged everything in but the red light wouldn't come on and it wouldn't blow out hot air. I touched the cord in the back of the heater and it the red light came on but went off again when I let go of the cord. I positioned the cord just right and it started heating. If not medded within worked fine. Kept my greenhouse at the set temp. Mind you, it's not been terribly cold yet in kansas. Mid 20's at night. I contacted BioGreen and they had mw fill out an on line form which I did but didn't get any email or other contact. I got a delivery of a new heater, no thermometer since the first one is fine, and it seems to work fine. No touchy cord issues. Giving 4 stars only because of lack of contact after initial time and not sure yet of durability.

Praise for BioGreen, raspberries for Amazon Resale
BioGreen deserves a rave review. This was yet another instance of Amazon Resale selling returned items without any inspection, in this case, described as "mint" condition. The product had broken parts and was bent; it appeared to have been squashed. I initiated a return but, since the item was out of stock, I contacted BioGreen to get parts and fix it myself instead. BioGreen inspected the damage and determined that it needed to be replaced, which they did immediately. I was blown away. Good on them!

Fabulous Product for the money
I purchased this unit for a small 6 X 8 ft greenhouse Nov, 2022. We are into year 3 now. It has been so good to maintain plants I used to have replace each year. My 4 ferns are now 10, my mandavellas have gone from 2 to 7. I have been able to split plants each spring and set out, then return to the heated space for winter. I live in North Mississippi, where the winters can get to the single digits and summers are over 100. I set this unit to 65 degrees and it maintains a minimum of 56 on the colder days, well within the specified range for my plants. I store the heater in a shed after danger of frost has lifted. I set it on a concrete cinder block in the back center area, with the thermometer dropped from the roof to the center. I have a secondary manual thermometer to gage the electronic unit. The electronic unit has not wavered. This unit is safe, easy for me to manage, looks great, and has been a trustworthy unit. If I add another greenhouse this fall, I will set it up with the same heating unit. I am in my 70s and this is perfect for me to manage on my own, without assistance. Excellence product and value!

Extremely finnicky heater that does not heat
The bottom line is that this heater will only stay "on" in heat mode for about 3 minutes before "safety" tripping and shutting off completely of operating only in fan mode (useless). It then requires a 20 - 30 minute reset period before deciding to heat again. Also, during that 3 minutes, and on 1500W mode, the heater only gets barely luke-warm. I've tried all "troubleshooting" steps. The heater is in a very clean environment, level, not covered and not with plenty of clearance. It has the appearance of an industrial item and, being made in Germany (or with some German involvement...) vs. the typical all-Chinese origin, I actually expected quality. I do have a return/replace request in process with Bio-Green directly, so I may change my opinion if the replacement unit actually functions as a heater. I do have a super-cheap Holmes (like, a $20 plastic - ceramic thing) operating in the space now and it blows this heater away. Very sad. Oh, by the way, the little green thermostat that came with this does work and is fairly awesome. It retains its settings in some sort of NV RAM permanently when losing power, so I put the thermostat itself on a power timer to attempt to give the heater frequent "breaks" to get its act together and force frequent resets. Anyway, the thermostat retains its settings for those ~10 or so power cycles through each 24 hour period. Obviously, from above, the very generous "off time" I have given the heater have not really solved anything and it still only blows barely warm air for about 3 minutes before checking out in any 30-40 minute period.
