I researched a ton of bags to find one that can be considered a "personal item" size for most airlines, and this one fits the ticket! It's smaller than a typical duffel/overnight bag, but that's why I liked it. It has a lot of compartments to stay organized.

I take this to the gym. It has so much space that I forget which compartment I packed things in. There’s a water proof pouch inside which is perfect for toiletries. There’s quality is also very sturdy and it’s lightweight so doesn’t hurt my shoulders either. It looks super cute and at this price it’s hard to beat tbh

I needed a new bag to use as my personal item when flying, and had some pretty strict criteria that the bag absolutely had to satisfy, and this bag exceeded all expectations.I've put more context for my situation below this next part, if you want to read it, but here were my criteria: the bag I needed had to be the Perfect Combination of a small duffle bag, a hobo-style large purse, and a sturdy tote bag, and absolutely had to have sturdy zippers.- This meant that it had to have a large enough capacity to hold at least two of my packing cubes of clothes, my toiletries bag (toothpaste, toothbrush, travel soaps, etc), my bags of electronics and cables, and my small purse.- This meant that it had to have straps that were long enough for my whole forearm to pass through, so when I picked it up with one hand, I could easily push my elbow through in order to sling the bag over my shoulder.- This meant that it had to be sturdy enough to hold quite a bit of weight without straining the fabric or zippers, and still remain comfortable to carry.This bag did all of that and more! It has tall handles for easy shoulder carrying AND a longer shoulder strap like a traditional duffle. It has a HUGE capacity and somehow stayed comfortable to carry despite me knowing the nonsense with which I had filled it. It didn't even look over-stuffed despite the amount of convincing it took to zip it closed, and the zippers are STRONG, too. There are so many pockets both inside and outside, including a plastic spill-proof pocket on the inside if you dont want to use a separate toiletries bag.I want several more of these bags, and I'm kind of sad because this one is so good that it'll be a while before I need to replace it with a new one. If you're looking for a carry-on bag to work as a personal item to go under the seat in front of you on the plane, then this bag is for you.SOME CONTEXTI live outside the Los Angeles, CA area and have a sister who used to live in Manhattan, NY. She has always had room to have me visit and went through 6 of the 9 years of her graduate program trying to convince me to visit more, so I started visiting her several times a year. Since the flight from LA to NYC was around 6 hours, and since she had a basement laundry room in her building (where you had to pay to use the machines), I would always pack a lot of clothes and, therefore, check one suitcase and carry-on a little roller of personal stuff. I like to bring my game console with me because my sister, my mom, and I like to play video games together on the weekends (and my sister only had her own game console), so my little roller carry-on was just big enough to hold the game console and all the cables and stuff that go with it.THE CURRENT SITUATIONMy sister moved from Manhattan to San Francisco, and is now a quick 1 hour flight away, AND she has an in-unit washer-dryer set-up that I can use whenever I want for free! Which means I no longer have to pack lots of clothes! HOWEVER my little roller carry-on is literally not big enough to hold even a week's worth of clothes AND the game console plus its cables. I love my little roller because it is quite literally a child's roller luggage and thus fits up on its side like a book when I put it into any airplane overhead compartment, so I really DID NOT want to compromise and get a new roller carry-on.Therefore, I needed a VERY SPECIFIC bag to be my personal item, and I did a lot of hunting around online to find the best possible bag for the job. I already have several BagSmart products so I kept coming back to this bag in my hunt, and I'm glad I did. I just flew from LA to San Fran a few days ago and the bag performed perfectly, was so easy to carry, AND fit under the seat in front of me without taking up all of the room so my feet could still stretch out. Truly a 5/5 bag.
