Amazfit Helio Shockingly Good
A shocker is what I would call the Helio band from Amazfit. I was a Whoop devotee since 2020. The new device came out and I paid for it, but it was delayed. So I decided to try Amazfit. Here is the comparison: Amazfit has MORE battery life; Amazfit has MORE metrics (biocharge); Amazfit's HRV is MORE accurate; Amazfit works perfectly on the ankle if you want to wear it there, though it is a good looking device on the wrist; Amazfit's sleep tracking is WAY MORE accurate (it isn't even close); and Amazfit has no monthly subscription fee. I wear Oura ring and a Huawei GT 5 watch. The Amazfit belongs in my collection and is a real star of a device. I recommend it highly.

Affordable, accurate, unobtrusive
I'm impressed by the helio strap. If you watch reviews on YouTube you'll find that the heart rate tracking is as accurate or better than Apple watches (really accurate). But the real strength of this health monitor is the zepp app. After a few days of use I found the sleep tracking and activity tracking to be great. After a week of tracking the app had enough data to start giving me training scores (over, under training) so stay patient with that. The auto activity tracking is good too giving me an exertion level during the day based upon heart rate tracking data, which is really what matters. Your daily exertion should be based on heart rate not whether you actually walked 1 mile. There is also an Ai assisted diet tracking feature to measure caloric intake. I even found it tracks naps I take and then records that as input to your daily biocharge reading that tells you how rested you are. Pretty cool. I found myself having to take 2 or 3 days to learn all the features but after a week I'm a pro. Oh, it can also automatically upload auto tracked activity to different tools such as Strava , Google fit, komoot and more. I don't think it uploads to Apple fit. Overall I'm pretty pleased with a device that helps me track my health in such a non obtrusive way.

Excellent fitness strap
It’s an extremely good, helpful product for health and fitness enthusiasts. The depth and detail of information and metrics that the band provides is nothing short of amazing.Step counting, heart rate tracking, sleep tracking, calculation of of sleep apnea risk, skin temperature, HRV, exertion level, PAI calculation, a calculation of biocharge (overall recovery and energy for the day), calorie burn and intake monitoring, stress levels, blood oxygen, and a large variety of workout monitoring. Is it a "Whoop Killer"? Mmm.. not really. But at its price, for what it provides, it’s worth every penny, and it’s a strong competitor. If there is any negative, it does take a bit for its calculation on active calorie burn to calculate correctly, and its automatic workout tracking is… problematic. Turn it off. It has an enormous battery life off just one charge and its overall functionality is extremely deep. If you’re a health and fitness buff, I guarantee that you’ve spent more money on far, far worse products than this. The Helio strap is the real deal.

Lightweight, comfortable and useful
My girlfriend and I each bought one. So far, they seem really useful and accurate enough to help with our health needs. The Zepp app has been really useful and provides the information we're looking for. Battery life had been excellent. Waiting for more "native" and colorful replacement bands to come out. I realize that watch bands work, but I like the idea of bands that cover the sensor, just like the stock band. I would recommend this to other people. I may even try one of the watches in the future.

Strap in!
Whoop 3-Apple Watch 9,7,Ultra-Fitbit Versa and whatever the fitness band Amazon produced. Had them all, liked them all...I will never go back. Why? The Zepp app is good. It consolidates all the regular tracking elements and layers on a nutritional tracking piece that is welcome. Judging from how closely the data appear to be in-line with the aforementioned trackers, my sense is it is as good. For $99 bucks and no subscription. This should be handed out by insurance companies like candy (or apples), as it is good, inexpensive and helps users really examine their physical, sleep and eating habits.

A great band for more fitness oriented users!
Originally I wasn't sure if this would be a 4 or a 5 start review as the band seemed to have a few times where the data was implausible. There were multiple updates during the first week or two that I had the band and there have been no issues since then. The battery life is great, it is more comfortable than my fitbit was, and it isn't distracting. I think the app is better than fitbit as well. This is a great band!

Bricked After 4 Days – Not Alone
Promising Idea, But Not Ready YetHad the Helio Strap for 4 days and loved it—until an automatic update failed due to "insufficient space" on the device. Mind you, I only had two treadmill walks logged. I followed the app’s suggestion to delete workout data, but the update still wouldn’t go through.Searched Reddit and found others with the same issue. Tried every fix I could find: cleared cached data, toggled Bluetooth, deleted and reinstalled the app—nothing worked. Finally, I unpaired the strap to try re-pairing… and that’s when it completely bricked. Now the strap won’t pair at all. Not a Wi-Fi issue—everything else on our 1GB fiber network works flawlessly. It’s clearly a hardware/software problem.Amazon told me to contact Amazfit directly for a replacement under warranty. I’ve left a callback number and emailed them, but haven’t heard back.Looking online, it’s clear I’m not alone—others are experiencing the exact same issues with no fixes currently available. The only consistent solution seems to be a full replacement.I really want to like this device. The concept is awesome, and I think it will be a game changer… eventually. Hopefully I can get this defective one replaced, and the next one won’t have the same issue.
