This is a really cute functional temperature gadget for pools!No batteries, powered by sunlight solar. Has easy to read temperature display in F/C.At night it can display a beautiful full color firework light show!I wish it was alittle longer so you could get a better temperature reading beneath the first 3-4 inches of water. Also it can get sucked into your filter intake basket but it is not wide enough to cause any disruptions in filter efficiency. Kiddies think it’s really cool and check temperature often, lol.

The thermometer function works well and is within 2*F of a few other thermometers. The light show did not appear to work at all at first, but after a day in the sun, that night I noticed some color. I'm not sure if the device was undercharged or if it doesn't try and activate when there is ambient light. The device is not bright enough to color the water or the walls and floor of my 20'x40' pool, unless it drifts very near a wall. It might be ok for a smaller pool or hot tub.

we've been using this thermometer for about a month now and so far it works really well. it's easy to read day and night. so far it seems to be very accurate. the display is bright and so is the colorful light that shines into the water. its water tight and i havent had any issues with water getting into the unit. great value for the money.

Disappointed in the lack of "Fantastic Colorful Light Show". Temp gauge is ok, but the "light show" is pretty much non-existent. Definitely does not light up as shown in the picture, not even the slightest. Still deciding whether to keep or return. I do not recommend.

I ordered this for our in-ground pool but I think it meant more for a spa or small pool. It has several color modes that are very pretty. You can choose static color, flashing or transitioning colors. Unfortunately, they do not show well in our pool. It doesn't come close to the pictures shown in the description. I think this would work much better in a spa. I attached pictures and a video so you can see how dim the light is.The temperature reading is very clear and seems to be accurate. The numbers are big but I can't read them when the thermometer is in the middle of our pool. Once again, this is much better for a spa or small pool

We're planning on possibly installing a pool either this summer or next and I thought I might get a head start with some accessories such as this pool light.Unit comes in a 2-piece plastic enclosure sealed with a rubber gasket and screws.Directions warn very strictly not to open it due to blah blah dangers or whatever, but obviously I'm not going to pay heed to that.Inside the unit there are two 2/3 AAA Ni-MH batteries at 350mAH capacity each, one multicolor LED in the center, and wires going to the thermometer probe. Given the size they could have used full size AAA batteries to make replacements easier if the batteries get worn out, but it shouldn't be too hard to solder in a full size AAA and seal the connections with heat shrink if you ever need to.Functionality is simple. Hold middle button for on/off, and press while it's dark to toggle the lights.Min/max temp can also be held to clear the values.When mine came in the batteries were extremely low and the lights wouldn't turn on, but the instructions said to charge for a full day before first use so I did, and they turned on just fine after that.In the meantime while waiting for the pool, this makes a nice thermometer that can sit on the table and charges itself. By default when you turn it on, the lights don't come on, so you won't have to worry about random light shows at night.

The temperature display is clear and easy to read, which is really helpful. I like that it’s solar-powered — no battery hassle — and it floats nicely without drifting too far. The lights add a gentle glow at night, though they’re definitely more subtle than the pictures make them seem. It took about a full day of sun to get the lights working properly, and if you have a bigger pool, the brightness might be underwhelming. I think a brighter light might actually attract bugs and flying insects, which would not be ideal; so the brightness level kind of works out. For what it is, it’s a solid little device that does its job well without fuss. It's an easy-to-use thermometer that adds a bit of color ambiance, especially in smaller pools or spas.

Since the item page has good photos, and it has a good description of this product, I will not bother adding pictures or more of a description.The original Item I received did not fully function, only the Thermometer worked, the lights did not (even after a full charge). I contacted the seller, and they sent me a replacement. After a day + of charging the new unit, the lights worked on the new unit. You need to have the unit out in the sun for at least 1 full day, more if possible to get the light function to work properly. It will not charge as fast if inside and facing the sunlight...The temperature readout is a nice size to read.Once I open my pool I will expand my review of the product.
