Unfortuanately, there appears a fundamental design flaw in this lamp when used in my crown bulb lamp holders. When a 60 watt incandescent tungsten filament bub is used, all, or virtually all, of the light is reflected back from the interior of the crown unto the curved bulb holder reflector and then into a concentrated spot of light. Crucially, from whatever angle the bulb holder and bulb are viewed (outside that spot of light), the glare of the filament CANNOT be seen. That, presumably, is why you have crown silvering. The incandescent tungsten filamanent (when the metal cap is at the bottom) is horizontal. Unfortuantely, in this LED bulb, the glowing component (LED) is almost HORIZONTAL. That means that only about half of the LED is blocked by the crown silvering so that a distracting glare from the LED cascades from the sides of the bulb. To remove that glare the silvering would, perhaps, have to extend about 1.5 cm further towards the metal cap. This product, as presently designed, appears not fit for purpose. Therefore, despite its splendid energy efficiency, I strongly advise: DO NOY BUY.
