The smell is not strong- kind of clean and fresh. You put it in a Silent Maid container that hangs in the tank.

Is it septic tank safe?

I do not know. I do not have a septic system

Does it make the water in the bowl pink?

i am not sure but since it is a concentrate it would be perhaps a tint of pink. i have liked all Stanley Products and continue to buy.

Does it accelerate the deterioration of the gaskets and seals of the working parts (flush valves,etc.) in the toilet tank?

My Aunt sold this since 1967 and I'm 60 and I've never had problems with our Toilet Tank/Bowl deteriorating inners I depend on this for continuous cleaning in my Toilet Bowl Kindest regards Samantha in Houston, Texas
