He was so excited to play with it and hear the sounds. We were very disappointed that the sounds only worked about 30 minutes after opening it. I'm thankful that my grandson loves horses so much that he still loves the stick horse even without the sounds. If you're looking for a plain toy stick horse, then you might like this toy. Initially, the sounds went out, but they later came back on. Now, the horse sounds continue to work on and off. My grandson still LOVES his horse! Sounds were and added bonus, I would still recommend this to those with children who love horses.
