Question 1

are wire connectors the same thing as butt connectors?

Accepted Answer

Dear Customer,
These are solder seal wire connectors, rather than butt connectors. This is the heat shrink butt connector here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B518GCJ. You can check they are difference via the link above.

For let you know their difference eaiser, we compare these two kinds of connectors from 4 aspects as follow:

1. Simplicity of Operation. For joining the wire with heat shirnk butts, you need a heat gun and plier, but for the solder seal coneecotrs, you just need a heat gun, as there is no need to crimp. So, the solder seal connector will be easier to use.
2. Waterproof Resistance. Both of them are waterproof, but there are two hot melt waterproof adhesive rings in the solder seal connectors, which will make it get a better waterproof and seal performance.
3. Flexibility of Use in The Confined Space. The solder seal connectors can be bent after connection and just need a heat gun to control the temperature to finish the joint, so it is more flexable and eaier when joining wire in the confined space.
4. Price. On Kuject, 210Pcs heat shrink butts is $19.99 ($1 for 10 piece) , and 120Pcs solder seal wire connectors is $16.99($1.42 for 10 piece) . The price is cheaper for every piece of the heat shrink butt connectors.

In conclusion, the solder seal connectors have a better performance than the heat shrink butts although it is a little expensive. So, we will recommend to use the solder seal connectors in most case, but it still depend on your needs.

Besides, there are two kinds of butt connectors in the market: crimp butt connector & heat shrink butt connector. Maybe you refer to the crimp butts, so we also talk about the crimp butt connector here. The appearance of crimp butt is almost same as the heat shrink butt, but the tube outside of crimp butt connector is made by nylon, so they can not be heat shrinked and not waterproof, which can not be used outdoor or humid area, just only can use indoor and dry space.

These are the introduction of the three type of connectors above, hope our answer help you.

Best wishes,

Question 4

I need to join wires when installing the new radio for my car, is it safe and reliable for using these kind of self-solder wire connectors?

Accepted Answer

Dear Customer,

Our item is IATF16949:2016 Listed, this is a certification of International Automotive Task Force. Automobile company like Ford, General Motors and Chrysler Corporation require that only product which go through the certification IATF16949:2016 can be used as parts to repair their cars, so you can use our connectors at ease.

Besides, compare to the tradition method that wiring with the solder iron, using our self-solder wire connectors will be much faster and easier, all you need is just a heat gun to heat the connectors.
