Supermarket Fantasy

This CD is great! Great rhythms, instrumentation, and melodies. It never ceases to amaze me how Sakurai comes up with these catchy melodies and hooks.

I had heard of this group because of it's cute (and odd) name. I remember a really good song of theirs on Internet radio that I still cannot find!I was just in Tokyo and had a chance to sample this CD. I do not understand the words, but this one is a cut-above for strong Power Pop melodies. Listen to Track 5...it has a hook with a really powerful interplay between drums and guitar that gave me goosebumps. This CD has a nice mix of romantic ballads and power songs. Price of this CD was high in Japan (over 30.00 USD), but well worth it. I have also heard their CD "Home" which shows their incredible diversity. That one is a bit more jazz-flavored with a different production style but just as catchy. It seems their mood at the time will dictate the feeling and style of music they write. I am glad to be the first reviewer in the U.S. If you like strong hook-filled Power Pop melodies (regardless of the language), buy this CD!

I won't do a track by track review. I won't even do a full formal review. There's simply no need. This is one of those "if you were trapped on a desert island, which records would you like to have with you" kind of recordings. It's also one of the best albums of late in any language or from any continent. Its heartfelt sentimentality and musicality are clear and consistent, and worth multiple listens. I have 39 Mr. Children albums (singles and remixes included), and this, followed by "I Love You" and "Sense" are their best! If you're a fan of music, do yourself a favor check these guys out! Really nice well packed!!!Supermarket fantasy define is one my most like of Mr.Children's albums!And the DVD actually can be read in UK!I love the lyrics and when I the rhythm of HANBI just get into my ear, I really moved and almost tear out everytime.More positive from Mr.Children!

今頃になって､｢Mr.Children｣に､夢中になっています。それは､私が芸能の女神とともに覚醒し始めたからかもしれません。｢Mr.Children｣の"全て"の楽曲が､高次元(神様のようなもの)から齎されているように思います。｢サイン｣や「しるし」は､運命の人との絆について顕著ですよね。｢Mr.Myself(innocent world)｣は､俗にいう､｢ハイヤーセルフ｣で､桜井さんは､こんなに若くから既に繋がっていたんだなぁと思います。｢GIFT｣を聞いて､｢HANABI｣｢エソラ｣が､同じアルバムに収録されているのを知り､私にとって､これはもう"感動"というより"事件"でした。｢ゴールデンチルドレン｣とは､太陽に起源を持つスターシードです。素晴らしい才能と高い直観力を持ち､非常に進化した魂の持ち主です。｢Mr.Children｣の名前と重ね合わせてしまいました。

長年のファンです。シングル曲も良く聞き応え充分。誰にでも勧められるアルバムです。

キャッチーなポップセンスをさらに突き詰め磨きあげた極上のポップロック。It's～からI love youまではどこかシリアスでヘヴィな部分もあり聞き通すのがしんどかったが聴きやすく初心者にもおすすめ。ここまでくると職人技といった貫禄さえ感じられる。悪く言えばマンネリってことでしょうが個人的にはこれがミスチルらしい様式美であると思う。深海からQまでは実験要素が強いアルバムで模索している印象を受けたが結局It's～のようなポップに回帰したのだと思うし桜井さんが本当にやりたい音楽はこういうポップスなのでは。星4つとしたのは「相変わらず」ギターの存在感がなく技術不足？なためで特に4曲目のブルージーなロックではせっかくソロパートがあるにもかかわらず適当に弾いている感じであまりに面白味がなく愕然とした。11曲目のソロはまだましな方だがもう少しエモーショナルなソロが弾けないもんかと。ついでに言うが、ミスチルをロックだのバンドだの小林のピアノうざいだの言ってる人は何なのか？ミスチルて一応バンドだけどそんなにロックじゃないと思う。小林さんはギターのアレンジに困っていたのでは？だって田原さんが弾く気がないから。桜井小林ともにギターを弾くなとは言わない思う。仕方なくキーボードで音を埋めてる感じ。ギターが弾ければ自然とロック寄りのサウンドになっていたと思うしやはりロックの主役はギターかと。ミスチルは基本ポップなロックであり、それはデビューしてからずっと全く変わらないと思う。
