Great piece of gear. Don't know how I lived without it. It's basically a heavy duty zinger. Your wading staff is there when you need it. Easily extends but retracts you staff when not in use.

This retractor has enough beef to it to retract my wading pole and keep it close at hand. I keep it on my right side because my right arm is stronger. I just switch my fly rod to my left when I move.

I bought one of these gear keepers a year ago, and the threaded screw pin on the back recently broke. I researched the other brands offered, but this still appears to be the best model. I bought a second and hope this one won’t break.

Yes but no. The cable is shorter than I expected. The ratchet is strong enough to recall or pull back my wading stick.
